At the Playground

Mummy takes me out for a walk at the poolside every day. Sometimes, she lets me play at the playground. I like to ride on this horsie...

and the swing...

and sit on this spring see-saw.

What is NO?

Dearest Mummy,

May I know what exactly does “No” mean? Do you realize that you repeat this word once in every 5 minutes? Why do you always say “No” when I:

- learn to open the car door while daddy is driving?
- stand right in front of the television to watch Barney close-up?
- help you mop the floor with my tongue?
- want a taste of everything you are eating?
- use your mobile phone to practice my throwing skill?
- prefer your flabby thigh or daddy’s arm to a teether?
- quickly hide my fingers in my mouth because you tell me they are dirty?

Why is this word so overused yet I don’t understand what it means? I hope I will find the answer soon so that mummy, you don’t have to say or grumble or yell “NO!” to me anymore.

Love,

Your confused little girl

I Can Stand

Mummy, I overheard you talking to daddy about me... something about "can't stand me" when I'm too naughty. Well mummy, you don't have to stand me anymore because I can now stand on my own. Look!

My Colourful Face

Yesterday, mummy took a good look at me and asked, "Aiyo BB, why is your face so colourful?"

That's because I fell from the sofa and knocked my head on the floor, leaving a “blue black” mark on my forehead, which then turned yellowish-greenish. The fine brown lines near my nose were caused by scratching. That pink patch between my eyebrows was the result of you neglecting me because I bumped my head again while playing on my own.

Have I answered your question, mummy?

Durian

The other day, something unusual made its way into my mouth... and tummy. It was soft, creamy, yellowish and sweet. It had a strong and stinky smell, but slightly more pleasant than my saliva-soaked bib. I saw everyone savouring it so I got curious and cried "Mummy, I want! I want!" It tasted yummy and I liked it.

Taman Tasik Perdana

Last Saturday, daddy and mummy brought me to Taman Tasik Perdana. It was my very first trip there. I had my eyes wide opened, marvelling at the beautiful park while trying to identify as many news things I could see.

While I enjoyed my stroller ride very much, I think mum and dad were struggling over something. I heard them panting and gasping for breath behind me, giggling and taking turns to push the stroller up the many steep slopes along the hilly park. It was a scenic and relaxing excursion for me, and a good workout for them!

It was also the first time where I got the chance to touch, sit and crawl on grass. Although I was not smiling at the camera (was too busy and distracted to), I did have lots of fun. I hope daddy and mummy will bring me here more often.

I Drive Her Crazy

I think mummy has gone crazy lately. She has been scolding and yelling at me for no reason. Cool down, mum. All I did was play with the switch on the electrical socket, push the hi-fi set to the edge of the table to see if it will fall on me, pull and tug at the cables under the table, play with detergent containers, lick the floor, bang the doors of the kitchen cabinets, climb up and down the sofa and stand right infront of the tv when you are watching your favourite program.

Hmm... I wonder what's wrong with that? Mummy just spanked me for repeating all of the above actions because I ignored her stern warnings again and again and again. Sigh... perhaps I should be more persistent and try again tomorrow. Maybe tomorrow she'll change her mind... or recover from her crazy spell.

I am exactly 11 months old today. At 11 months, I like to make this ugly piggy face...
and pose on the sofa like this...

Baby Talk

Mummy has been trying really hard to teach me how to talk.

Mummy: Say "mama"
Me: "Ta"
Mummy: "Ma"
Me: "Dah"
Mummy: (haiya) Ok lah, say "ta-ta" (beat-beat)
Me: "Dadadadada"
Mummy: What about "papa"? Say "pa"
Me: "Bababababa"

I think I still need a lot more practice in this.

My Rocking Chair

Mah Mah (Daddy's mum) bought me a rattan rocking chair. It's comfy and I quite like it... but only when it is not rocking.

When it moves, I feel as if I am going to fall off. I don't feel safe. I'm scared. Please dad, stop rocking! Noooooo.... Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa......

The Bookworm

I love books. I love them so much til I can't control my urge to eat them. I think I have some of the most delicious looking books around...
I'm not sure if mummy is doing the right thing by buying me attractive books. Seems like she is trying to instill good reading habit in me from young. However, the more I look at a book, the more tasty and tempting it looks to me. Very often, I will drool all over it too.

When nobody's watching, I like to sneak a corner into my mouth to bite and chew on it. Everytime mummy sees me doing that, she will get a little mad and utters something that goes "No, no, no, blah blah blah...". Knowing my appetite for books, she doesn't leave me alone with them anymore. But when dad babysits me, this is what happens...
Mummy always tells him to keep an eye on me but I think he prefers to keep his eyes on something else... the tv, his books or his laptop. Let's just say, the corner of his eyes aren't as efficient as mummy's.

Watch Me Grow

My first communication with mummy and daddy, telling them "Well done, you finally got it (got me) !"

Me, when I was a 2-month-old embryo:

I was born on 13 August 2006, weighing 4.39kg / 9lb 11oz at birth. Daddy said I looked like an Eskimo. Mummy said I looked like a little Sumo wrestler. I think I looked puffy and cute hehehe.

Chloe says Hi

Hello everyone! I'm ChloeRuoyi, the precious darling of a very loving couple called Daddy and Mummy. After having this idea on and off, on and off, Mummy has finally made up her mind to sacrifice a few minutes of sleep every nite to write down all the naughty (or clever or funny or silly or whatever) things I've done so that I can read them when I grow up. I'm also looking forward to learn how to read so that I can feel proud or embarrassed or laugh at myself *giggle giggle*. You will get to see more of me and get to know the "real" me here. Happy reading!
