Looking Back at 2010

Year 2010 has been a very, very eventful year for me. I've achieved and experienced many, many firsts, and of course, the most significant change in my life was attending pre-school at the start of the year in January.

Daddy and mummy were extremely proud of me because it was a tear-less affair since Day 1. I adapted very well to school life and did very well in school too :)

One of my favourite holiday destinations must be Hong Kong Disneyland (March).

My very first kindy field trip... Taman Tasik Menjalara. In the two subsequent trips to the zoo and bird park, I went without mummy (March).

An ugly scene... my first haircut in a hair saloon... I cried until I vomited *so embarrassing*

One of our most enjoyable and memorable holidays... Awana Kijal, Terengganu (July)

I celebrated my 4th birthday in August... had a small party in school

My first pony ride at the KL Tower (October)

And finally... our very own car! Daddy bought ME a new car, and appointed mummy as the driver hehe (November)

It was also a year that I visited many, many of places of interests (and beaches) and stayed in quite a number of hotels (more than 10!).

Weekday Getaway at DoubleTree Hilton

Exactly a year ago, on the 28th, we went for a hotel stay in KL Hilton. Yesterday, on the 29th, we stayed in a Hilton again... this time, it was at the newly refurbished DoubleTree by Hilton in KL (formerly the Crown Princess Hotel). It was a last minute decision to squeeze in another stay just before our Hilton Premium Club membership expires on the 31st.

It was a very, very relaxing stay and we LOVED this hotel to the max (cos everything was NEW).

At the hotel lobby, while waiting for daddy to check-in

Here we are... opening the room door with a touch-card... like Touch N Go

The room... it was quite small but very cosy.

It had a see-through bathroom

Mummy's favourite was the bathroom... it came with a complete range of Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries

Right after lunch (mummy tapau-ed nasi lemak and bread), we went for a dip in the pool. Swimming is the activity that I look forward to the most in every hotel stay.

The view of the swimming pool from the 25th floor, just outside our room

It's a salt-water pool... the water is salty

We befriended a very friendly American girl who kept following us and playing with us like she was part of our family :)

After swimming, we spent the whole day in the room, on the bed actually... watching tv, doing nothing and napping. We also snacked non-stop on the snacks, nuts and lots of fruits that we brought from home. Our favourite snack of the day has got to be these two pieces of chocolate chip cookies that the hotel gave to us as welcome gifts...

Honestly, this was the MOST DELICIOUS choc chip cookies we have ever eaten! It was moist, chewy and every bite was full of choc chips and nuts

It was SO good that it actually had a mascot, no kidding! And it was SO yummy that we actually went to the reception counter and asked for more *thick-skin habis* haha (this was what the little American girl taught us).

I was so happy to see the CCC mascot, I ran towards it and hugged its legs haha!

For dinner, we had something simple at the Old Town White Coffee in Ampang Park, which was just across the street. On the way back, mummy bought a yummy dessert from the hotel's cafe because it was 50% off and she couldn't resist...

More fatty food for us to indulge in... Amarenatta Chocolate Mousse

The night view from our room

The following day, we had buffet lunch at the Makan Kitchen.

The food here was not bad... lots of variety and it was very reasonably priced too

A very happy ice-cream girl!

When it was time to leave, I cried (sobbed silently) in the car and said "I miss the hotel" *sniffles*

What We Did Today

The bead fever is still ON! Both mummy and I are still hooked to it like it's our "life-support" haha. Here are some of the stuff that we made today, according to categories...

Food... 3-flavoured popsicle, milk shake, hamburger, Chloe fries (the letter C terbalik... hmm, silly mistake) and watermelon

Nature... apple tree, tulip field, rainbow and a bright and scorching red sun

More animals and insects...

Vehicles... mini car, fire-engine, choo-choo train and yacht

Our collection so far...

At night, we did something really different and impromptu... something that we have never done before. It was already close to my bedtime at about 9:30pm when daddy suggested going out for a car-ride. So, a car-ride we went... to see the bright and beautifully lighted streets around Sunway Pyramid.

Nice, hor? :)

Pyssla Beads

Mummy finally got it for me, these Pyssla beads, after reading about it in Aunty Merryn's blog. For two whole days, these thousands and thousands of colourful beads kept us so busy that we did not switch on the tv at all haha! Like Aunty Merryn said, we were obsessed with it.

My new toy... Pyssla beads (RM25) and Pyssla boards (RM7.90) from Ikea

Our very first creation... a mini smiley face :)

I made this... a town. Got buildings, got cars, got trees...

Last Christmas, mummy gave me her heart... When lightly ironed, the beads will melt and stick to each other

Can also string them up to make a necklace

Guess what am I making? Mummy did the outline and I filled in the rest

Tada! Jalur Gemilang. Mummy couldn't "iron" this because the outcome would be "terbalik" (the mirror-image). We should have arranged it the other way around but by the time mummy realized this, we were already too far into it to redo

This is indeed very addictive. Playing with it requires lots of patience and develops fine motor skills and creativity.

Our creations... butterfly, yacht, colourful heart, rubber duckie, clown, spider, apple tree and colourful circle... so which is your favourite? Mine is the clown hehehe!

After making all of the above, the container of beads is still FULL!
