Sharing a Miserably Tiny Piece of Cake!

Besides the daily hugging, kissing and verbal I LOVE YOUs, I have an unusual way of showing my love to mummy. Every now and then, I will come home from school with bits and pieces of "surprises" in my snack box... specially kept and reserved for her. You see, whenever I taste something nice in school (esp snacks given by my friends or from a class party), I would bring some home for mummy to try.

Just last week, there was a birthday party in class and the birthday boy's mother made a very yummy lemon cake for the celebration. I liked the cake very much and could have gobbled it up in seconds but with a little bit of self-control, I chose to save a small portion instead. I had mummy in mind and I wanted to share this tasty treat with her...

Chocolate almond crunch and "leftover" bite-sized lemon cake that I kept specially for mummy... (all homemade by my classmate's mother, who came to school and distributed them to us)

Looking at the cake, mummy felt very, very loved and thanked me many times for thinking of her. And guess what, she split the already tiny piece into half and shared it with daddy haha!!

One of the many other stuff that I saved and brought back for mummy.... some are as tiny as crumbs haha!

Never mind if it is just crumbs that I bring back for her... it is the thought that counts! :)

When My Folks Ignore Me...

... I learn to do things on my own, for myself!

There are days when daddy and mummy are too busy to entertain my request for something, like that day when I asked mummy to teach me to play a new piece on the piano. Mummy was busy cooking and I couldn't wait for her to finish so I learned to play it by myself... and I did it! I learn to play all new pieces on my own now... it is a good way to improve my sight-reading!

When (I think) nobody is watching, I sit like this while playing the piano @-@

Recently, I had a shaky tooth again. I pleaded with daddy (my personal "dentist") many times to help me pull it out but he kept saying "later". He felt that the tooth was not loose enough for manual extraction (with his bare hands). Desperate to end the pain, discomfort and misery caused by the dangling tooth, I pulled it out on my own! *proud*

Shaky and painful tooth no more, thanks to... myself! :)

6 Years and Still Doing It...

I love "driving". I've always loved the steering wheel since I was a baby. Everytime daddy leaves the car to run a quick errand or to pump petrol (locking both mummy and I in the car), I will quickly hop over to the driver's seat and play with the steering. I only do this under mummy's watchful eyes and I'm not allowed to touch anything else.

In Deep Concentration...

Ssshhh... please do not disturb or distract me. One wrong move can result in a "bloody injury"...

In deep concentration...

*tik tak tik tak* Guess what am I doing?

Cutting my toenails for the first time!

Mummy feels that it's high time I learn to cut my own fingernails and toenails because they are growing too fast (and she's just too lazy to help me with this). She's also curious to know... at what age do most kids learn to do this on their own?

The Stairs Challenge

It all started with this conversation...

Me: Mummy, are we going to move to a new house?
Mummy: Huh?? (No, we are NOT moving anywhere)
Me: I wish we can move to a house with stairs. I love stairs!
Mummy: Eh, our house also got stairs wat... in fact, there are so many, many, many stairs that you will give up walking on them!
Me: Really?

Heh heh heh... that's because we are staying in a high-rise... a 24-storey one to be precise. Our talk about "stairs" soon launched daddy and mummy into a new exercise routine. Instead of conveniently pressing the lift buttons everyday, they challenged themselves to take the stairs as often as they can (esp when they are not lugging heavy stuff like groceries).

Initially, walking up 8 floors to our unit was quite strenuous for daddy and mummy. However, for me, it was simply "no sweat" from the very beginning! I didn't even need to stop while the two of them panted and paused to catch their breath midway haha (that shows how unfit they are!)

One day, curious to find out how far I could go, mummy suggested going all the way up until I stop. Well, I never did stop. I walked and walked and went up and up and up until the top floor!

V is for Victory! I walked up 24 flights of stairs (equivalent to 400+ steps) without stopping! Is this a great feat or what hehe.

Walking up more than 400 steps was still effortless to me and I showed not sign of weariness. I'm as fit as a fiddle! This stairs challenge soon led us to another "expedition"...

Batu Caves!

We decided to stop here cos it was just along the road on our way home from Fraser's Hill.

Are you ready?

This is like only 272 steps away... of course no problem for me!

On the way up, we saw A LOT of monkeys as well as some banana peels littered all along the stairs. Slipping hazard... must be the work of these monkeys hehe.

Flashing my victorious smile... I did it again :)))))))

Inside the cave... we walked all the way in

Standing right under a huge stalactite *yikes*

View from the top

Time to go down... not for the weak-kneed :p

I counted the steps all the way down. Daddy and I counted 271 but we later checked and found out there were actually 272.

I had a good time chasing the pigeons there

Birds of a feather flock together

After a "workout", the sight of this pile of coconuts made me very thirsty hehe

Aaah! Refreshingly thirst quenching!

A Sweet Gesture

Three weeks ago, Ah Ma had a fall on the golf course (Ah Ma is an avid golfer even at her golden age of 72) and fractured her left wrist. That very weekend, we went back to Seremban to visit her. When I saw Ah Ma's hand in a cast, I showed my sympathy and "sayang-ed" her hand a few times.

The following day, after we have returned home to PJ, I did something really cute and funny. I kept blowing kisses out of the window and said "These kisses are for Ah Ma. I hope Ah Ma will catch them!" Later, I told mummy that I wanted to make a card for Ah Ma. Since it was already quite late at night, mummy just brushed off my idea and told me to do it the next day.

The next day (when mummy had totally forgotten about the card), I did it on my own. I cut a piece of A4 paper into a small card and wrote the following words...

Mummy found the word Ah Mu hilarious LOL!

I asked for the spelling for "draw", "card" and "Ah Ma" but must have heard wrongly or written wrongly thus "Ah Ma" became "Ah Mu". Mummy then helped me with another more proper card.

Girl at work... mummy was very, very happy and proud of my sweet gesture and initiative to cheer Ah Ma up

My writing... mummy spelled almost all the words for me except for my own name and I Love You

The front: Polka dots and stickers

The back: A picture of me, Ah Ma, a cat, a mountain with flowers, a tree, a sun and a rainbow

When the card was done, I picked an envelope, placed the card inside and helped mummy to affix 2 stamps on it. I also personally dropped the letter into the post box just outside our home.

Surprisingly, Pos Malaysia was super fast and efficient! Ah Ma received my card the following morning (in just over 24 hours!) She was so surprised and delighted to see my card that all her pain and agony melted away instantly! Happy Ah Ma = Happy Me :)

Gently stroking Ah Ma's bandaged hand during our 2nd visit last weekend. Ah Ma is feeling better now... with the cast taken off

Seeing Double

One day, while dining in a restaurant, something in the large mirror caught my eyes. I think it was my "twin sister"...

Hi there, how come you look exactly like me?

I ran up and down the aisle with "her", held "her" hands, danced with "her", made funny faces at "her" and even kissed "her". I really had fun playing with my "playmate" hahaha!

Brushing in the Dark

I am quite an unusual kid. I mean, how many kids out there would eat a candy halfway, abandon it and go brush teeth? Well, here's what happened...

I was eating an organic lollipop. At the same time, I kept complaining "It's so sweet.... it's too sweet..." After that, I disappeared without mummy realizing it. Moments later, mummy found the lollipop chucked aside and me? I was in the bathroom, brushing my teeth, in the DARK! LOL!

It was really dark in there because I did not turn on the lights. The light in this photo came from the camera flash. See, siap put on a bib summore haha!

Mummy smiled and thought to herself "Good, good... She has very good oral hygiene" and felt proud that all her hard work in threatening me has paid off. She's always telling me that if I don't brush my teeth or keep my teeth clean, the choong-choong (worms) will come and eat up my teeth and turn them black, making them very, very painful. Eventually, these painful, rotten teeth will fall off and I will be toothless... cannot bite or chew food anymore.

Sounds scary? Well, at least it does, to me. Hehe!

Handy Manny's Influence

Look what happened when I told mummy that my musical book has run out of battery and she paid no attention to me...

No problem. Just to DIM (Do It Myself) lor!

I went to the drawer, grabbed a test-pen and tried to turn the screw to open the lid of the battery compartment all by myself!

Did I succeed? Well, nope. We did not have any spare AG-13 buttons cells at home to begin with haha!

Music Appreciation Day

I think it's pretty obvious that I love Music & Movement. Here's me dancing to Ni Hao Kai Lan's theme song in the morning. I do this EVERYDAY without fail...

I just love this cartoon and everytime the show starts, I'll dance to the theme song with my eyes closed.

Later, I went to the piano, switched it on and selected a pre-recorded piece randomly...

Playing, conducting and humming to Marcia Alla Turca by L.V. Beethoven.

Piano lessons? Mummy tries to teach me every now and then, but I'm still not ready for it yet (fingers too stiff). She can't wait to enrol me for the Yamaha's JMC next year.

Little Miss (not so) Helpful

Everytime after eating, I will eagerly volunteer with the washing-up, but only if the bowls or plates are not oily or breakable (usually after some fruits or snacks). Under the pretext of helping to wash, I get to play with water...

Washing at the wash-basin in the bathroom (standing on a stool)

After washing, I will warn tell mummy "You don't wash again. I washed already. It is CLEAN." and proceed to place them on the dish-rack. I get offended every time I see her re-washing what I've just washed hehe.

Well, do you think mummy could rely on my services? When I'm not looking, of course she would curi-curi re-wash because...

You call this clean? Look at that tiny black dot on the plate. It's a dragonfruit seed, which after my "thorough" washing, still remained there haha!

The Little Dancing Princess

While strolling in Colmar Tropicale, we saw an open stage along the walkway. After asking for mummy's permission to go up on the stage, I boldly went up and danced happily...

I was happily tapping my feet, following the rhythm and dancing to the beat when a few passers-by walked past and gave me a big applause! I was so shy, I stopped in my tracks and smiled bashfully at them...

Dancing with daddy...

My New Dance

Nowadays, when asked to dance, I seldom shake my bum-bum anymore. My latest dance style is to twirl round and round like a little ballerina...

The pre-bedtime work out

This is what I do every night just before bedtime - rolling and diving around to drain out my remaining energy before going into sleep mode to recharge.
