The "Piano Chair Yoga"

Oh, I need a break from this mundane piano practice. How about some "piano chair yoga" for a change...

A shake head and roll eyes moment for mummy haha...

When My Folks Ignore Me...

... I learn to do things on my own, for myself!

There are days when daddy and mummy are too busy to entertain my request for something, like that day when I asked mummy to teach me to play a new piece on the piano. Mummy was busy cooking and I couldn't wait for her to finish so I learned to play it by myself... and I did it! I learn to play all new pieces on my own now... it is a good way to improve my sight-reading!

When (I think) nobody is watching, I sit like this while playing the piano @-@

Recently, I had a shaky tooth again. I pleaded with daddy (my personal "dentist") many times to help me pull it out but he kept saying "later". He felt that the tooth was not loose enough for manual extraction (with his bare hands). Desperate to end the pain, discomfort and misery caused by the dangling tooth, I pulled it out on my own! *proud*

Shaky and painful tooth no more, thanks to... myself! :)

Treasures In The Piano

This is not the first time. Well, what else can it be if it isn't my itchy hands at work again? I just can't help it. It's as involuntary as.... say, breathing!

This time, I had inserted a few items "into" the piano. Actually this was discovered more than a month ago when mummy attempted to teach me to play the piano again. However, my very first "formal" lesson came to an immediate halt after just 5 minutes, when mummy realized that something sounded very wrong. A very clear and distracting hissing sound was heard every time the F#, G and G# keys were pressed.

After a long session of probing, scolding, warning, more questioning, punishing, more scolding and some crying, I finally revealed what I had put inside. The round centre piece of the number 9 foam mat:

To cut the long story short, mummy just left it as it was and dilly-dallied until today, when she finally made a call to the Yamaha Service Centre. The piano technician told mummy that once they make a house call, a fee of RM90 would be charged, even if it didn't require any repairs. The technician was also kind enough to ask mummy to save the RM90 by giving her a step by step instruction on how to dismantle the top cover on her own.

When daddy came home this evening... tada!

This is how the interior of a Clavinova looks like.

And here are some of the things that are NOT supposed to be inside:

The round centre piece of the number 9 foam mat and the Hello Kitty plastic that mummy has cut out from the outer wrapper of my Japanese rice crackers.

The culprit wasn't the little round foam after all. It was that Hello Kitty plastic piece that was lodged directly behind those few affected keys!

And this comb... it has been missing for the longest time!

The 3 culprits...

Under the Piano

This morning, while mummy was busy with some work...

Me: Mummy, come and see BB... Mummy, come and see BB!
Mummy: What are you doing?
Me: I'm under the piano.

Mummy was thinking "What? Under the piano? Wrong preposition gua." Then she came out to take a look. Her first reaction was an alarming "Oh no!!" but then she ended up chuckling instead.

It was a funny sight to see me "camping" here

Why? Because this is one of the DUSTIEST place in the whole house! Luckily, very luckily, she just wiped it yesterday. If not, hmm.... (sure kena marah for nothing)

The Piano

Daddy finally bought a real piano for us (mummy and me)! Well, it's not so "real" actually. It's a Yamaha Clavinova but sounds and feels as real as an accoustic piano. I just LOVED it (only for the first few days).

I could open and close the key cover and press the on/off switch on my own the very moment I played with it. The following morning, immediately after waking up from my sleep, I ran to the piano and happily helped myself to it.

I insisted on playing with a book too, after observing how mummy played. I also imitated her actions... played a few notes, flipped the page, played a few notes, flipped the page...
