That's the reason I gave after being repeatedly nagged by mummy for taking forever to get things done. Yes, there's a sloth in me and mummy is not very happy about this. She feels very stressed to see me doing things without the slightest sense of urgency...
- On average, I take about 1 hour to finish a meal. No matter how hungry I am or how delicious the food is (i.e my favourite food), the fastest I can finish is 30-45 minutes and the slowest... up to 2 hours, sometimes even longer! There was once, I started eating my dinner at 7pm and by the time my bowl was empty, it was close to 9.30pm... bedtime already... *yawn*
I'm not slow, I'm just savouring my food... |
- I am very slow in writing and take a looooooong time to complete my homework every afternoon. Besides writing slowly stroke by stroke, I also like to daydream, walk around (very easily distracted) and dilly dally, stretching my daily homework time to the hours sometimes.
- I love it when mummy lets me bathe on my own because that's when the fun begins. I will take a looooooong and slow one... playing with water, shampoo, body shampoo (and waste a lot of them in the process). Mummy can't hurry me because I will tell her "I'm not done/clean yet".
- Every morning when we are rushing for time, I will slowly drag my feet to the bathroom, brush my teeth in slow motion, take my sweet time to fill up water in the cup (to brush my teeth), letting the water trickle slowly from the tap! I will also eat my breakfast at snail's pace and I do not seem to understand the word "late".
If I were to have a race with a sloth, I think the sloth would win.
I went to 100yen shop n bought a timer. I set it for 30 mins for writing and also 30 mins for makan. I told him the rules. From that time onward, I;ve got improvement.
ReplyDeleteI also have a timer. It's a kitchen timer, specifically but I think it should be good for this purpose too ;)
DeleteGiving a chance, my younger one is also like Chloe, but this Tiger Mum never allowed it to happen. I will raise my magic wand on her and turn her from sloth to deer.
ReplyDeleteI'm also a tiger mum wat... already raised voice and raised magic wand many times but she's still like that. Haiyo, very frust lah!
Deletehahaha so cute... chloe the sloth :p
ReplyDeleteHmm, Chloe takes things slow and steady ya? ;)
ReplyDeleteEm, Chloe finishes her meal everytimes without fail and does her homework neatly, am I right? If only she can go a little faster....
ReplyDeleteMine eats within 15 mins, does her homework within 30 mins and I got complaints from her teachers that her handwriting is horrible!
The sloth / tortoise will win the race one day (plus nice, neat handwritten homework) :D :D
Hmm, her writing is not very nice also la... depends on her mood. What stresses me most is that her class teacher complained a few times to me and said that she is super "selamba"... she's slow to respond, slow to finish her work, just SLOW in everything lah! ^____^
DeleteAaa....i think kids at this age tend to be a sloth ? I have one at home too ! haha....
ReplyDeletehahhahaha....Chloe can shake hand with Ashley. If i don't yell or scold, she will take forever :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute sloth. :)
ReplyDeleteI help Gwen brush her teeth and change her in the morning for school coz we are rushing for time. That's why she can get ready in 15 mins..haha.
Gwen was slow too in writing and day dream alot. After lots of scolding and nagging she has improved. :P I also set the timer when she does her homework. Now no need timer already she suddenly finishes her work fast..haha.
She is still slow in eating but max time to finish her food is an hour.
Sometimes I do help her too, esp when we are running late in the morning but on most other days, I want to her train her to do things fast on her own. As for eating, I will sometimes spoon-feed her cos cannot tahan seeing her eating her rice 3 grains at a time, esp when we are dining out! At home, she sometimes eat with the cane placed in front of her. Terrible or not? Sigh...
DeleteI guess that is kid..like to drag here n there.
ReplyDeleteTalking about sloth...my son now adays eat his dinner like a snail...talk too much, air got inside his tummy. LoL
ReplyDeleteMost days, I also end up saying "faster! faster! quick! quick!" countless times.
ReplyDeleteOh, your last sentence is just hillarious!
hahhaha...i have one at home too
ReplyDeleteI think my son can 'race' with your daughter.. haha!
ReplyDeleteI tak tahan too when I saw Sarah moving in slow motion.
