Do Plants Have Hiccups?

Actually this happened quite some time ago. When I saw mummy watering her plants, I asked her...

Me: Why do you have to water the plants?

Mummy: Plants need to drink water too, just like us...

Me: Ooooh... if they don't drink water, they will have hiccups??

Mummy: Hahahaha!!

Plant oh plant... you better drink lots of water or you will have the hiccups!

Although I rarely have the hiccups, I somehow can remember and relate it to my past experience where mummy would ask me to drink lots of water to alleviate the problem.
