An Awful Lunch

Today, I had the most awful-tasting lunch ever! These photos are self-explanatory...

Not nice, mummy.... very YUCKY!

Eeeeeeeeeeww...!

What a horrible taste... can't stand it!

I really, really don't like it! Please don't cook this for me anymore, ma.

Alright, here's what mummy cooked for me today...

Alphabet pasta with BITTERGOURD soup, chicken, carrot and organic Romaine lettuce (already half-eaten in this pic)

It was mummy's ploy to make me eat bittergourd! Since I always came home from school starving, I rarely said NO to anything that was served. Although today's lunch tasted awful, I did not protest at all and "guai-guai" (obediently) finished the whole bowl cos if I didn't, I would have nothing to eat. No force, no bribes and no threats were required. Despite the not-so-happy expressions above, I was too hungry to reject it so I finished the whole bowl of bitter soup! *Double thumbs-up from mummy*

(This is my first time eating bittergourd. Although mummy cooks this quite often, she has never "forced" me to eat it before)

  1. Muahahaha! Poor Chloe, your notty mommy conned you to eat bittergourd?!! Auntie doesn't like this vege either, unless it's stir fly with eggs or stuffed like Yong Tauhu.

You are such brave and tough little girl, for being able to finish the soup despite of its awful taste! *clap Clap*

  3. Sheoh Yan: I also didn't let her eat the bg but the soup was really, really BITTER. Even when I tasted it, I was like... oh no, if she doesn't eat this, how? I was not going to force her but surprisingly she ate it without any complaints haha. It was only the 1st few mouthfuls that she made the funny faces. After that, she was already used to the bitterness in her mouth.

I cannot eat bitter one (indirectly means cannot survive hard way in hokkien, lol). Hence I don't cook this vegetable.

But bravo to Chloe for finishing the bowl of bitter gourd soup. Yay!!

  11. Hohoho!!! Evil mummy! Vic don't like bittergourd also, even at the sound of the name! I sneaked a little into William's food smashed up a few times and he ate it... but lately his tastebuds become more high-tech and he manage to single out the offending food. Haiyaa! Anyway, I don't like bittergourd except cooked with omelette and the indian fried ones.

We should start a "I hate Bittergourd" groupd in FB, kekeke
