Hehehe... very cold and "ticklish"! |
Mummy slept like a log and did not get up to check my temperature at all! (what a horrible mum) This morning, daddy and mummy woke up feeling worried and upset because my body was still hot to the touch and they freaked out when they saw the thermometer reading... 40.1C! They immediately rushed me to my usual paediatrician's clinic.
Mummy was worried that I may have contracted urinary tract infection because I had earlier complained about "pain during urination". According to the doctor, I did not have any symptoms of UTI (urine colour and flow was normal). The culprit turned out to be my throat. The doctor gasped when she saw my very inflamed tonsils! This was obviously caused by heatiness. My whole body was so "overheated" that even my urine was hot, thus the burning sensation, which I described as "pain".
Now, mummy is very baffled as to why am I so prone to heatiness and tonsilitis. This is my second attack in 3 months (well, actually it's only the second attack in my life). I had my first bout in August and mummy doesn't remember me running such a high fever then. I don't eat fried food, I drink enough water daily, I take at least 2 servings of fruits every day, I drink homemade fresh fruit juice (with cucumber) quite regularly, I sleep well etc. What could be the cause? Daddy blamed it on the chocolate that I ate 2 days ago...
This poor Lindt chocolate bunny kena blamed although I only ate its ears! :p |
Aisay...if know going to be overheated from eating the bunny ear, might as well eat the whole thing lo. At least sick also worth it hehehe
ReplyDeleteHope Chloe is getting better by now.
ReplyDeleteTalking about tonsilitis, Ryan also very prone to tonsilitis. He can't even hav a small bite of chocolate, biscuits, snacks, fried food, pizza, etc.I remembered well last few weeks, Ryan just hav a small pc of choco cake at school and next day, he got fever.
Hi, just to share that my boys are prone to tonsilitis too. It's important to know what causes it. For my eldest, I know that he suffers from tonsilitis once he eats too much food which he is allergic too. He is lactose intolerant. As soon as he complains that his throat is uncomfortable, I would get him to gargle sea salt twice a day until he no longer has sore throat. It helps prevent fever arising from tonsilitis. In addition, I also notice that he has much fever attacks after taking Esberitox which strengthens his immunity. I understand how you feel. My boy had tonsils every month previously, though with sufficient sleep, plenty of water and good bowel movement. Once you know what is causing it, you can help reduce the occurence. Take care.
ReplyDeleteThe bunny choc looks so irresistable..haha. Luckily, Gwen is not prone to tonsilitis although she drinks very little water. Maybe KL weather is too hot.
ReplyDeleteHope Chloe has recovered by now.
Poor Chloe.. Hope she is alright now!! Take care~
ReplyDeleteoh dear..poor Chloe. hope she is better now. does she have a heaty body? do you boil sugarless barley for her to drink? I do that for Ashley once a week, as well as coconut juice and Refresh from E-Excel since her body is very heaty. Oh, I also get her to gargle her mouth every night with salt water :) did the paed prescribe antibiotics?
ReplyDeleteWish Chloe a speedy recovery. The food or the weather could be the culprit. My kids take home-cook herbal drink to reduce body heatiness.
ReplyDeletepsst... got fever but Chloe still enjoy the coolness of the ice-pack *from 1st pic* kekeke....
Hope chloe is getting better now. I indeed like the first photo....
ReplyDeleteMaybe becoz she's not trained to eat 'junk food'. So must give her more often so her body will get used to it. :D
ReplyDeleteOkay, jokes aside, hope her fvr has subsided n she's eating n drinking like normal. Get well soon, Chloe!
my paed said the weather only 'enhance' the heatiness, but not the culprit. I only listen silently, because my daughter nv take fried food, drinks plenty of water also kena acute tonsilitis twice.....*pening* now I make her take manuka honey once in 2-3 days, and add in the expensive supplement - Millenium cactus juice, too desperate already.....
ReplyDeleteToo heaty wor... oh yes after she recover remember to throw away her tooth brush, bacteria on it might attack again. Let her gargle with salt water every day when she brush her teeth.
ReplyDeletesigh, everything starts from the throat kan? hope chloe is all OK now, take care
ReplyDeleteGet well soon, Chloe. The bunny chocolate is cute. I could't resist to eat it too, if I were you.
ReplyDeleteLast week my girl got it too. The fever didnt subside till she has to take antibiotics to cure the inflamation...sigh**
ReplyDeleteaiyo...poor Chloe. But with medications, am sure she will gets well very soon.
ReplyDeleteHope Chloe is fully recover by now.
ReplyDeleteActually, Shenny jie jie is also prone to heatiness and tonsilitis. Apart from taking medicine and drink much water, Shenny jie jie goggles her mouth as often as possible in a day and luckily she likes to do it, because it does really help to relieve her sore throat.
