Holiday Activity 1 - Sand Art

It's the school holidays again. This morning, I asked mummy...

Me: Mummy, where are we going today?
Mummy: We're staying at home.
Me: But it's a holiday. I want to go somewhere.
Mummy: We're not going anywhere.
Me: Why not?
Mummy: Daddy has to go to work.
Me: Why does daddy go to work and you and me stay at home only? Blah blah blah...

And I went on and on, asking all kinds of questions and throughout the day, I kept moaning "I'm so bored... mummy I'm so bored, I'm soooooooooo boooooooooored..." although mummy has already planned out some activities for me.

This was what we did today... our first holiday activity:

Dora The Explorer "Sand Magic"

Pouring black sand on Dora's hair

Unfortunately, this activity couldn't keep me occupied for long. I found it too difficult, messy and dull. Not even halfway through, I gave up and told mummy "I can't do it. I don't want to play anymore". Even with mummy's help, I just abandoned it and walked away :( I obviously didn't have the patience and interest to sit through the entire activity. No wonder I was still bored. Mummy had to do it for me and I would pop by every few minutes to monitor her progress while commenting "Wah, so nice!"

The final product... not so nice *mummy paiseh*

  3. Looks like quite a tough piece of art to do for a child below 5. Even I will need patience to finish it up. Mummy did a good job on it though :)

  8. Oh my girl love sand painting, but obviously I'm the one doing 97% of job. Find out it's better to start with dark colour sand like black to avoid dirty other light colour.
