I Won't Be a Monster Mom Like You!

I did it again... I was caught filling water into the tube of toothpaste. The last time I did this (a couple of months ago), the remaining half of the toothpaste was ruined... it became watery, diluted and unusable. I was given a stern warning on never to do this again.

Independent in the bathroom... I can manage all the "bathroom businesses" on my own (from small to big, including bath). However, whenever I'm unusually quiet for a while, I'm definitely up to something no good...

Last Saturday morning, mummy caught me repeating the same offence on another tube of toothpaste. Unable to contain the rage in her, she spanked and scolded me. When asked to explain my misdeed, I complained that the toothpaste was too hard and by adding water, I was merely trying to soften the paste to ease application! *mummy rolled eyes* Me and my grand idea.

As usual, after the anger in her had subsided, mummy scooped me into her arms, hugged me and sayang-ed me back. I was very close to tears when I muttered something softly to her "Next time when I have a baby and when my baby is naughty, I will not scold". Wallowing in self-pity, I then burst into tears! :'-(

  3. Oh my! I want to know who your response to Chloe's remark. My girl, April at one time, said almost the same thing " If I am a mummy, I won't use the rattan to cane my child. " My response was "Let see how then."

    1. The more I consoled her, the harder she cried haha. This fler, always likes to self-pity and get all emotional over small things.

  7. Chloe was doing what she thinks is right... Mummy must say sorry to Chloe for spanking and scolding Chloe. And Chloe must also say sorry for making mummy angry and ruining the toothpaste....
My ziyi will silently hate me and keep her distance from me whenever I scold and get angry or evenmore with spanking. I usually apologize and followed by weeks or months of quality time and controlling my anger... Haha...

    1. Ya, mummy said sorry already and sayang her back, that's why she felt emotional. Actually this happens quite often, except that in the past she just kept quiet. This time she made a remark :p

  8. This situation happened to my son. He filled water in to get the paste out (same like Chloe's intention), and fortunately the tube was already finished hence he escaped the scolding and spanking part. Since then I keep my toothpaste high up.

After the first warning, Chloe still committed the offence - mummy, did you miss out the explanation on the first happening? Maybe she didn't know the reason you prohibit her filling water in the tube?

    1. Oh, so Chloe isn't the only one who has this "grand idea" hehe. Actually I already explained to her why it's wrong to do that. She also knows the reason well... the toothpaste couldn't be used anymore and wasted.

  10. Normally after spanking and sayang back, mommy don't apologize, else the child will confuse that you are regretful and wrong, not her. Hehehe, anyway, good to record all these down... She is still angelic, not

  11. Irresistible, I can understand that cause when I'm small I use to do notty things too, I know I shouldn't do that but can't stop it. After did a mistake only I start scold myself, why I want to touch it, I shouldn't do it, now I created a mess and feel so guilty.

  18. Haha, this act of mischief is every little kid's favorite coz they are just too curious. My rascal #2 did this many times, some more with a brand new tube of toothpaste and needless to say, the entire tube was wasted. I was fuming mad too! But Chloe had a very good reasoning. Yup water can indeed soften the hard toothpaste :)
