The Contrast

Daddy took these photos...

... and asked mummy if she noticed anything funny about it. Mummy couldn't tell, so he said "Can't you see? A Lego forklift running over the dolled-up pretty Princesses?" Haha, yes, it was indeed quite a funny sight... me in my pink, girly and princess-y bedroom... but playing with boys' toys. What a mismatched combination! From young, I've always loved boys' toys...

I even slept with the forklift parked next to my pillow haha... I like to go to bed with my favourite toy beside me

One moment love it to bits, the next moment smash it to bits *horrors*

Cousins From Abroad Part II

After becoming good buddies with cousin Nathan for 2 full days, I started talking, playing and behaving very differently. I was so much like a boy!

The most noticeable thing was, I kept holding a make-believe gun (it could be anything), pointed it at someone and said "Hands up!" or "Don't move" or "I'll shoot you!" or "Shoot the crocodiles!" or "Shoot this, shoot that, bang-bang here, bang-bang there" etc. *mummy shakes head* Luckily this didn't last long. A few days later, no more bang-bang here and there haha! Phew!

Kill the crocodiles! Imaginary crocodiles in the imaginary river.

We practically "lived" in this sampan for 2 whole days. Haha!

Gung-gung also lit up the lantern for us to play

The Half-Son

Besides being a daughter, I sometimes play the role of a son as well. Daddy likes to buy me boys' toys such as cars (the whole collection of Ferraris from Shell), balls, trucks, remote control cars, trains, robots etc. His reason is simple: So that he can play with me comfortably. (Imagine him playing girly stuffs with me? Hahaha!)

I love boy toys

What about mummy? Well, she sometimes buys me boys' clothings. She even calls me BB-boy or Naughty Boy occasionally, just for fun. (No, she's not yearning for a son)

Not very happy to be in this boy's outfit

Girl or Boy? Part II

Today is daddy and mummy's 7th wedding anniversary. Since today is a Monday, they celebrated it yesterday. They went to their favourite restaurant and I tagged along too. One of the friendly waitresses there came over and played with me. She couldn't tell if I'm a girl or a boy. Looking really unsure, she asked "Girl? Boy?" *Sigh* This is not the first time. It's a pity that nobody ever notices the leng-leng (pretty) clothes that mummy puts on for me. This was what I wore....

I am a girl

Out of 10 strangers we meet who are friendly enough to say hello to me, 9 of them would think I’m a boy.

Scene 1: At the poolside
Auntie: Hello baby. Goochi-goochi-goo… boy ar?
Mummy: No, girl.
Auntie: Oh ya hor… I didn’t notice her pink dress.

Scene 2: In the lift
Elderly Uncle: Hallo boy! Boy-boy ar! It’s a boy, right?
Mummy: (Smiling) Girl lah…
Elderly Uncle: Hah? Girl ah? Looks like a boy leh.

Scene 3: In the lift (again)
An elderly auntie with a little baby enter after us.
Auntie: (Directing the little baby to look at me) Look... Kor-kor. Hello kor-kor. Kor-kor, right?
Mummy: (Smiling again) Jie-jie lah…
Auntie: Hah?! (Looking obviously shocked) Jie-jie ar? I thought he’s a kor-kor. She looks so much like a kor-kor (still looking surprised and in disbelief).

Mummy, do I really look like a boy? Or are strangers just being strange?
