A Long-Winded Temper Tantrum

I rarely have temper tantrums. Daddy and mummy are quite strict and stern in disciplining me. They will not tolerate nonsense such as unreasonable crankiness, leaving me no chance to express my frustrations and unhappiness through tantrums. Terrible 2s and Horrible 3s? I've never had the "privilege" to go through that because I know very well that tantrum = cane.

This morning, I woke up with severe Monday morning blues. Feeling extremely sluggish and moody, I had difficulty moving and responding to mummy's commands (asking me to drink my milk, brush my teeth, change into my uniform etc). Irritated by my unresponsiveness (I practically just ignored her), mummy shouted at me and lightly slapped me twice to fully wake me up.

We did not talk to each other the whole morning after that. Upon arrival at school, I suddenly clung on to her, cried and refused to let her go. Mummy left without turning back to smile and wave goodbye to me, like she usually did.

Little did she know that I actually cried for 4 hours, from 8.30am until 12.30pm, from the moment class started until class dismissed! Little did she know that I had my "battery" fully charged for crying! Later, when told what happened, mummy felt so bad and embarrassed that she quickly apologized to my teacher for making her endure the torture of my misbehaviour!

I was still crying when we reached home. Can you believe how crazy I was? I was given a stroke of the rotan and barred from watching tv, having snacks and playing with my toys as additional punishment. Having nothing left to do or play, I slept the whole afternoon away...

... and also slept all my blues away...

Despite my annoying crying-spell, I was given a Tinkerbell balloon (all my classmates got one, of different design each), which mummy thought I didn't deserve at all. But it did put a smile back on my face again.

Cranky No More

My crying spell has ended. It lasted exactly one week. While we were back in Seremban last weekend...

Ah Ma: I heard that you've been crying a lot everyday.
Me: How do you know? You can hear meh?
Ah Ma: *chuckled* Yes, Ah Ma can hear you. You cried so loudly.
Me: No lah, you are so far away. You can't hear!
Ah Ma: Yes, I can... *blah, blah, lecture, lecture* Promise me you won't cry anymore?
Me: OK (hooked my pinkie to hers)

Surprisingly, I kept my promise. Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday... the days have come and gone and I'm still tear-free. The crying and crankiness had really stopped!

Peace and happiness in the house restored. *big smile*

The Crying Spell

Lately, dunno what has gotten into me. I've turned into a cry-baby for no apparent reason. I have been horribly irritable and ill-tempered, which is so unlike my usual jolly self. I behaved very well in school only to return home to... cry! I refused to open my mouth to talk and tell what I want. I choose to cry over almost everything!

When I'm hungry, CRY.
When told to drink water, CRY.
When I spill a few drops of water on myself, CRY.
When I can't position myself comfortably on the sofa, CRY.
When I need my nap, CRY.
Halfway through my nap, CRY.
When I wake up from my nap, CRY.
When I want to pass urine, CRY.
When I can't put on my panties (cos it's inside-out), CRY.
When mummy changes the tv channel, CRY.
When told to pick up my toys, CRY.
When I want to go to bed at night, CRY.
In the middle of the night, CRY.

This has been going on everyday, for a week! Little bit, little bit, cry. Really fan sei yan and mummy is at the brink of going cuckoo! Today, she got so irritated and enraged with my non-stop crying spell that she pointed the cane (balloon stick) at me and forced me to smile and be happy!

Now, how do you smile when you are crying?

Evil or not, my mummy?

Now, compare that to this... taken on the same day, when I'm not crying... so sweet and angelic, right?

Sleep Talking and Crying

I talk and cry in my sleep very often, so often until daddy and mummy are already immuned to it and don't bother to entertain me anymore... (esp when they are in sweet slumberland)

However, early this morning, my crying was exceptionally loud and non-stop. I kept crying for "Elmo CD, Elmo CD, want my Elmo CD, Elmo CD, want Elmo CD, Elmo CD......................" like a broken record.

I was really annoying so daddy had no choice but to bring me to my CD collection. After a quick rummage, I brought these 2 "gems" back into the room and went back to sleep. *Daddy & mummy shake their heads... sigh*

What a princess! I arranged the CDs side by side like this and went back to sleep

Cry-baby

There is this hideous side of me that is seldom seen by others...

This is how ugly I look when I cry...

Lately, I've become very emotionally sensitive and would cry at the slightest thing. And whenever I cry, even if it is a pretentious one, tears gush out generously like a burst pipe.

I would only stop crying when mummy takes out the camera and says "Cry louder, let me take a video of you". (Depending on my mood, this trick doesn't work all the time, though)

Sunday Tantrum

Last Sunday saw me kicking up a HUGE fuss. I was taking my usual afternoon nap when I was awaken by a strange dream (as assumed by mummy). This ignited a crying spell - the worst and longest I've ever had.

Daddy and mummy found themselves scratching their heads as to what pacifying tricks and techniques to use to calm me down. I refused and pushed away everything that was offered to me... milk, water, toys, hugs, cuddles and just stood there crying my lungs out for a good half an hour.

It was much later that I realized I should have accepted one of the offers extended to me earlier... daddy's warm and loving embrace.
