3 Days In A Row

Daddy and mummy rarely bring me to the cinemas. Mummy thinks it's a waste of money to go out for movies since we've already subscribed to the movie channels at home (nevermind if they are not the latest movies). However, last week was an exception. We watched movies in the cinema not once, not twice but thrice... 3 days in a row actually.

What prompted us into this "movie marathon" was the FREE movie screenings (for 5 days) by GSC in conjunction with their new opening in Paradigm Mall last week. The movie list was quite limited, more so when I could only watch those rated U or PG13. We ended up watching Mirror Mirror on day 1, Star Wars: Episode 1 (in 3D) on day 2 and John Carter on day 3.

The only movie I enjoyed watching from beginning to end was Mirror Mirror. As for the other two, I did not understand the storyline but I managed to sit still, stay awake and keep quiet throughout the show :)

Wearing the 3D glasses for kids (to watch Star Wars)... cool, eh?

(Not many photos to share cos mummy did not bring the camera with her. She only took a few with her phone)

Birds or Bunnies?

Mummy wanted to bring me for a movie (just the two of us again) because she had two FREE movie tickets which were expiring on 20th April. Daddy did not want to be left out when he heard about our plan hehe. He took half a day off from work to join us.

Right after school today (I had Mandarin class until 2:30pm), I was immediately whisked off to e@Curve. I was given a choice of two movies... the bunny one (Hop) or the bird one (Rio). Mummy was a tad disappointed that I chose the latter. She thought to herself "what can be so interesting about a flock of birds?" Anyway, she did not disapprove and went ahead with the ticket redemption for the 5:25pm show.

We had "healthy junkfood" in replacement of the overly sweet popcorn that I disliked. We munched on this organic tortilla chips with soy and flaxseed, which was gluten-free, transfat-free and MSG-free (mildly flavoured with sea salt).

Mummy was SO wrong! The movie turned out to be hilarious and highly entertaining! Needless to say, we enjoyed the movie very, very much. I told daddy and mummy that I laughed until I cried haha.

It was already 7pm+ when the movie ended. We had dinner in Ikea. I had my favourite kid's spaghetti and I finished the whole plate on my own.

I was a bit grouchy because I missed my afternoon nap and was exhausted after a long day

It feels great to go for rare weekday movie treats like this. We hope to do this again someday...

A Hotel Stay, A Fever and A Movie

Last Sunday, we went to the PGH for a 2D1N stay again. It was probably my 7th or 8th time there, so no details in this post. This time, we went with Mah-mah, Yeh-yeh, Koo-ma and Hayley jie-jie.

After checking-in and putting down our stuff, we went to Seri Kembangan for lunch. We had "paper-wrapped chicken", yong tau foo, noodles and a few dishes with rice at a restaurant near the MINES.

After lunch, at about 3pm+, we went to Jusco Cheras Selatan for some shopping. By the time we returned to the hotel, it was already 6pm+. It was too late to go swimming because the swimming pool closes at 7pm. Therefore, we played bubbles in the balcony.

Fun, fun bubbles! I enjoyed popping them with my hands as much as I enjoyed blowing them

We had a simple "tapau-ed" dinner in the room... an assortment of bread, pizzas, buns, muffins, fruits and tidbits. Earlier, at the bakery (Jusco's La Boheme), I was attracted to the Christmas muffins and kept pestering mummy to buy it for me. I ate the whole muffin on my own and tried to eat the cute figurine too but couldn't sink my teeth into it. I told mummy "It's as hard as a rock!" Hahaha.

The following day, we went swimming in the morning. Mummy gave me a limited swimming time of only 15 minutes but it was extended to nearly an hour!

15 minutes? See, my hair is not even wet yet!

That very night, while cuddling me as usual, mummy felt that my body was unusually warm. A check with the ear thermometer revealed that I was indeed feverish. 2 weeks ago, after swimming in PD, I was down with a bad cough (that self-recovered within a few days without any medications) and now this. Sigh...

This is how you do it... I know how to use a thermometer

I had a mild fever

I haven't had fever in a very long time. The last was 19 months ago in May 2009. Luckily the paracetamol syrup that we have in the fridge is unopened and only expires next year. After taking just one dose of it, the fever subsided, just before bedtime. Phew!

The next morning (Tuesday, a public holiday), I woke up feeling fine. Daddy and mummy carried on with their plan to watch Rapunzel: A Tangled Tale. We went to the Cathay cinema in e@Curve and watched a morning matinée.

The outcome: I cried again. The last time I watched Rapunzel, the Barbie version, I cried too. I didn't like Gothel, Rapunzel's evil "mummy". I was terrified of her! Everytime Gothel appeared, I would sob silently while squeezing and holding on tight to mummy's hand. Because of Gothel, I did not enjoy the movie. I did not like the movie at all.

Anyway, mummy bought a Rapunzel souvenir for me (for herself actually haha)... a reusable shopping bag from Tesco because it's pretty in pink.

Sweet, right?

Toy Story 3 and a Popcorn Issue

We finally caught the latest sequel of our favourite movie Toy Story today. Kau-foo gave us a movie treat at the MBO Cinemas in Terminal 2, Seremban.

Our first movie experience in an MBO cinema.

Finally... we're going to watch Toy Story 3!

Overall, it was a very pleasant cinema. However, the service at the snack counter was a big letdown. We bought tickets for the 12:15pm matinee and when we proceeded to the snack counter to get some popcorn, we were told "Sorry ar, popcorn belum siap". I was so disappointed, I stomped into the movie hall with a charcoal-black face.

After settling down comfortably in my seat, I must have forgotten all about the popcorn. I was back to my cheerful self :)

Yay! Couldn't wait for the show to start

I enjoyed the movie very much! I laughed at some of the funny scenes and even talked during the show. When the movie ended, I told daddy the movie was not nice because the cinema was too cold haha.

On our way out, we walked past the snack counters again. Immediately, I dropped hints and told mummy "I want to eat something crunchy". Indirectly, I was asking for the popcorn. Mummy told Kau-foo to get me a small box. However, this time he was told "Popcorn habis". Apa lah!!

Anyway, a big thank you to Kau-foo again for the very entertaining movie! We loved it very, very, very much :)

Our Weekend

We went to The Curve/Ikea/Ikano/Tesco two days in a row this weekend. We spent more than half a day there yesterday when Gung-gung, Ah Ma, Yee-ma and Kau-foo came for a visit. We had a marvelous time touring the whole of Ikea and having lunch, tea and dinner together. Too bad mummy left the camera at home, so no photos.

As if that wasn't enough, we made another trip there again today because daddy and mummy wanted to watch Cloudy With The Chance Of Meatballs. Since the movie ticket promotion was only applicable at Cathay cinemas, we didn't mind going there again. We even parked our car at almost the same spot!

CWTCOM - my second movie in the cinema

This time, I didn't fall asleep in the cinema. The cinema was quite packed and I kept talking and asking questions. Mummy had to repeatedly "ssshhhh" me to lower down my voice.

After the movie, I hinted to daddy "Today I'm a good girl, hor?" Daddy smiled and knew straightaway what I was up to... I was indirectly asking for a ride on the kiddy rides! Well, yes... it's indeed quite true that I've been a very good and obedient girl in the past few days so I got to ride on this "premium" animal ride that cost RM3 per ride... (I usually get to spend only RM1 on kiddy rides in each shopping outing)

My very first time riding on this...

I liked it very much... When the ride ended, I kept hugging and rubbing my head on the panda bear before getting down haha!

Up: My First Movie Experience

After the kindy registration, we went to the GSC at Tropicana City Mall for a movie... my very first in a cinema!

We watched UP. Yes, it's an "outdated" show but we're not complaining. Since it was a weekday and since it was "outdated" there were only 7 people in the cinema, including us! Daddy got a free movie treat (for his birthday month), I watched it for free too, while mummy paid only RM7 for her ticket. So it was only RM7 for us whole family.

The ad in the mall...

It's movie time!

Ate popcorn for the very first time

I popped a piece of caramel popcorn into my mouth... munched, munched, munched... urrggh! I didn't like it and wanted to spit it out but mummy made me swallow it :-(

Overall, I was quite well-behaved but occassionally, I talked quite loudly. For the first 10 mins of the show, I sat down and watched quietly. After that, I got up to play with the chair. I kept pushing the seat up and down. I did that many, many times! After sitting down for about 5 mins, I'd stand up and play with the seat again haha. Towards the end of the show, for about half an hour, I fell asleep, tired from the workout of standing and sitting, and pushing the seat up and down haha!

I Don't Like Ice Age!

It was supposed to be my very first movie in the cinema today. We've been talking about it for weeks! I was eager and excited. I wanted to eat popcorn in the dark-dark cinema... that was until I found out that we were going to watch Ice Age 3. My first reaction was "I DON'T WANT!!!" After much coaxing and persuasion by daddy and mummy, I still flatly refused and even retorted "I DON'T LIKE ICE AGE! I don't want, I don't want, I don't waaaaaaaaant...."

So near yet so far... we were already at the lobby of the Cathay cinema at Cineleisure

Why so anti-Ice Age, you might ask. Well, I don't like the dinosaur. It's very ugly. Mummy and daddy were like... aiyah, don't want, don't want lah... sai-hei. How to force me? So we just spent the whole day (10 hours) shopping at The Curve, Ikea, Ikano and Tesco.
