My Kindergarten Years

9.11.2012 was the last day of school and that marked the end of my preschool life at Peter & Jane Kindergarten, where I spent 3 memorable years playing, learning and growing to my full potential. Here's a recap of some of the important and interesting events (although most of them have been posted in this blog before) that made my days here fun, interesting and memorable...

First day of school vs. Last day of school (Jan 2010 - Nov 2012) - noticed how my uniform has "shrunken"? I wore the same XL-sized uniform for 3 years!

I was a cute 3y5m toddler when I started school

Rain or shine also must go to school... those were the days before mummy had a car - we walked to school

CNY celebration in school

Dressed to the theme "Floral Fantasy" for Mother's Day celebration in school

Celebrating my 4th birthday in school

Sports Carnival in Sunway Lagoon 2010 - receiving my bronze medal and a gift pack

Field trips in year 2010 - Taman Tasik Manjalara, Zoo Negara, KL Bird Park

First day of school (K1), 2011 - I came home with a party pack! *happy*

Theme Day - We had about 3 Theme Days every year

A little something for my teacher on Teacher's Day

Besides the joy and laughter, there were some teary days too. Remember this torn uniform incident?

Father's Day celebration in school... making some crafts with daddy

Field trips in year 2011 - Tenmoku Pottery Factory and Petrosains KLCC. I missed one trip because I was sick.

One of the many cultural celebrations in school

One of the many parties that I attended in school

My first concert in K1

From my MLP (Mandarin Language Program) classes in K1, I advanced to K2 Hua Wen

Water play, my favourite activity!

Sports Carnival in Sunway Lagoon 2012 - getting ready for a telematch

Very often, I come home from school with crafts, gifts and what-not. Once in a while, I do bring home useful stuff too, such as these plants: papaya seedling, edible spring onion and sprouts (all from my Science project)

Field trips in 2012 - Taman Tasik Permaisuri KL, Pusat Sains Negara, Marco's Pizza

My second concert in K2

A collection of all my class photos

Finally... my graduation!

Big girl already... 3 years flew by too quickly!

All the photos above pretty much sum up the highlights of my preschool years. Walking out of the kindergarten doors for the very last time on the last day of school, I had mixed feelings (sad to leave my school and friends but probably relieved to escape from my very strict and "fierce" class teacher) while mummy was overwhelmed with emotions. We are definitely going to miss Peter & Jane very, very much!

I Sang In My School Concert

My kindergarten's annual concert was held on Sunday, 14th October, in the Dewan Sivik Petaling Jaya. My classmates and I took part in the first item in the program lineup titled Nursery Rhyme Time where I danced to the chanting of My Grandfather's Clock and Bunyi Jam. I also sang a Chinese number, Wo Jia De Zhong and earned compliments from my teachers and family members. For the finale, we also "twisted" to the upbeat tune of Rock Around the Clock.

In my white and black polka-dot concert attire... pretty or not? *bashful smile*

View from the top... this year, daddy, mummy and Mah-mah who came along to support me, sat in the upper tier of the hall where they had a better view of the stage (though a bit too far for our camera to zoom in)

Opening performance by all the K2 pupils.  Can you spot me? Hint: I'm right in the centre of the photo, standing.

Dancing to the groovy beat of "Stand By Me" in the K2 Opening Performance (my face is partially hidden by someone's fist)

Cool and stylish dance moves in My Grandfather's Clock

Look who's singing?

Belting out "Wo Jia De Zhong" (The Clock in My Home) in my solo-singing presentation

Bravo to our splendid performance!

Rocking to the finale of the first segment... Rock Around the Clock

The grand finale... The Greatest Love of All presented by all the teachers and students

Kudos to all the teachers and students for putting up a great show. Daddy, mummy and Mah Mah enjoyed the performances very much and they were very proud of me :)

The concert ended with a big bang as usual where the stage rained confetti on us (concert kids) and the hall rained balloons on the audience, just like last year. My friends and I quickly helped ourselves to the balloons on our way out :)

With my friends, Nicole and Debora

We had dinner in Sushi King (I asked for this!) after the concert where I couldn't stop viewing the concert videos taken by daddy. I also received funny stares from shoppers who must be wondering "why is this little girl wearing such a fanciful outfit to a hypermarket?" hahaha!

Marco's Pizza

Last Thursday (28 June), I went on a very fun-filled field trip to Marco's Pizza. I kept telling mummy how fun it was to roll the dough (with a rolling pin), spread the pizza sauce, sprinkle toppings on it and send it for baking.

Let's make pizza!

Besides pizza, we also made ourselves a bowl of healthy salad with lettuce, egg, apple, raisin and salad sauce.

Caught on camera with my blur-blur look

*All the photos above are taken from my kindergarten's Facebook album

Besides making pizza and salad, we also had a fun session of singing, colouring and decorating our pizza boxes.

My colouring... bad mummy laughed at my mouldy and rotten mushrooms... LOL!

However, we did not have pizza for lunch. Instead, we had pasta, nuggets and ice cream. The pizza became our "takeaway souvenir". We brought it home to be shared with our loved ones...

My very simple pizza box decoration... I just drew a small pizza man with a big slice of pizza

I made this all by myself... classic hand-tossed with chicken ham, mushroom, cheese and pineapple

Yummy!!! I loved my self-made pizza and thanked myself again and again hahaha!

I had 2 slices of pizza plus a big scoop of mummy's vegetable mashed potato for dinner, before going for my JMC concert

Prior to this field trip, I've already been here many times with daddy and mummy. We came here to utilize the many food vouchers received in the goodie bags from my Sports Carnival in Sunway Lagoon.

Yay! We're having pizza again!

Some of the pizza, pasta and soup that we ordered...

And here are some of the FREE stuff that we had, redeemed with the food vouchers...

Free regular pizza, free pasta, free tiramisu, free ice-cream (this was for liking their Facebook page on the spot)

This is not a paid post but we would like to say that the food here is good, especially their thin crust pizzas... and this explains why we kept going back again and again :)

I Love Daddy!

A Father's Day Special was held in my kindergarten on 14th June (Thursday). Just like the previous 2 years, daddy went to school with me to attend this special event. The theme for this year was Cheerful in Yellow...

Daddy and I donning our favourite yellow outfits

Doing the daddy-daughter activity together... guess what did we make?

A simple doughnut decoration... spreading and sprinkling toppings on it :)

Done! Can I have it, daddy?

I love you, you love me...

There was also a special assembly as usual where we answered questions about our dads, sang some "daddy songs" and did action songs together.

D is for Daddy, D is for Doughnut...

...and the doughnut is all MINE!

The doughnut was supposed to be for daddy but he saved it for me. Mummy brought it home and kept it in the fridge so that I could have it for my afternoon snack. Yummy!

On the actual Father's Day (which was yesterday), I made a card for daddy and we had a simple dinner in Sakae Sushi.
