Making this for the second time today, I felt like a pro already hehe...
I've washed my hands, I've put on my apron, I'm all ready to start work! |
Believe it or not, I did this all by myself! Well, almost. I was under mummy's supervision and of course, the steaming part was done by her because I am not ready to handle a pot of boiling water yet.
Sift the flour |
Sift the cocoa powder |
Add sugar |
Crack in an egg |
Combine everything together and mix well... add in some chocolate chips |
Wait... *tick tock tick tock* the cake needs to be steamed for 15 minutes |
Tada! Steamed chocolate cake... I made one :) It's very moist and we love it very much! Since it is a mini loaf, it's just nice for the 3 of us. |
Ooh, smells very good and tastes even better! |
1 piece is not enough... indulging in my 2nd piece! |
Here is the recipe if you would like to try it:
1-Egg Chocolate Cake*
Dry ingredient: 4 tbsp self-raising flour
2 tbsp cocoa powder
1 tsp baking powder
Wet ingredient: 3 tbsp milk
3 tbsp cooking oil / melted butter
5 tbsp sugar (mummy reduced to 2 because she added chocolate chips)
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
3 tbsp chocolate chips (optional)
Sift all the dry ingredients and put aside. Put all the wet ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Add in the dry ingredients and mix well. Add in chocolate chips. Pour batter into a mini loaf pan. Pre-boil a pot with just enough water for steaming. When the water comes to a boil, place the mini loaf pan into the pot and steam for approximately 15 minutes.
It's just as simple as this |
*This recipe requires a mini loaf pan
