Selangor or Terengganu?

Touching down in KLIA, reaching PJ and entering our home sweet home was the best feeling ever!! The first thing that greeted us was our very clean house, thanks to these two very important people -  Koo-koo (daddy's sister) and Kau-foo (mummy's brother). Thanks a million for helping to take care of our home while we are away.

Next was this pile of letters, accumulated over a period of 7 months...

Bills, newsletters, bank statements, insurance statements and misc mails

Although daddy has already subscribed to a number of e-letters, e-billings and other electronic mails, our mailbox was still flooded with this mountain-high of physical letters by the hundreds. It took daddy and mummy over 2 days to finish browsing them all :p

Among this pile of letters, some of them were mine and this one in particular attracted our attention (actually it was Kau-foo who spotted the mistake)...

Since when did we move to Terengganu or could there be another Petaling Jaya in Terengganu too? 

We found this blunder rather amusing though hahaha! Luckily my Ikea Smales newsletter did not get lost and managed to find its way to our mailbox :)

Finders, Keepers

I have a pair of rather sharp eyes (although glasses-assisted). Very often during outings, I will find money lying around, gold lying around... did I just say gold? Well, read on hahaha!

Just this afternoon, I found a 5 sen coin on the floor while shopping in Tesco with mummy. Unfortunately, I soon lost the coin after it dropped into the toilet bowl while I was doing my big business (I was holding the coin). Barely 3 minutes after coming out of the washroom (and after a long-winded "ceremony" of saying goodbye and sending the 5 sen coin to poo-poo land), I found another 5 sen coin at another spot in Tesco! Is this pure coincidence or what?

A few days ago, I also found a 10 sen coin while dining in a restaurant plus many other similar incidents in the past. This "coin-finding" happens so often that mummy joked sarcastically to me one day "Why do you only find 5 sens, 10 sens and 20 sens? If only you can find gold this easily one fine day"...

... and that's exactly what happened! Last week, while playing in a children's playground, I actually "struck gold". I found a heart-shaped "gold" pendant on the slide. A kid must have dropped it while running around or playing rough in the playground. Unable to find the owner of the pendant, we brought it home.

This is the "gold" pendant which mummy believes is only gold-plated (but it's heavy and solid to the touch)

Mummy does not want to keep a stranger's personal belonging and had wanted to dispose/donate it away but it has since gone missing among my piles of stuff! One day when we find it again, we will definitely give it away (maybe hide it among my toys and donate).

Deepavali cultural celebration in school... I returned home with a tiny "pottu" on my forehead and a henna mendi on my hand (I quickly explained to mummy why my "pottu" was red. Apparently my teacher had run out of black ones)

Random Happenings

This school holiday is going to be the most boring one ever. Daddy and mummy did not plan any holiday outings at all. Nothing much is happening so far and mummy and I are practically rotting away at home. I keep complaining "I'm bored, mummy. I'm very bored..." but mummy can only nod in agreement "me too" haha.

Wardrobe Malfunction

I was given a t-shirt and pants and told to change on my own before going out...

It was after entering the lift that mummy noticed I had my top put on "front-side-back". Silly me haha!

Squirrel

Gung-gung caught another squirrel in Ah Ma's mini fruit orchard again. We made yet another trip to the Lake Gardens to set it free.

LRT Ride

I had my second LRT ride two weekends ago. We went to KLCC and bought MPO (Malaysian Phiharmonic Orchestra) tickets for a show next month. This is going to be my very first orchestral concert.

Cotton Candy

After watching a few cartoons on tv that featured cotton candies, I was very curious to try it. Finally, I spotted them at a candy stall in a mall and kept bugging mummy to get one for me. Mummy said no but I pleaded with her until I got it...

Yay! Can't wait to taste it! Outcome: I didn't like it :(

Video Games

I have been playing quite a lot of violent, warrior-fighting PS games with daddy *mummy shakes head*. This is a typical scene in the living room at night when daddy is around...

Sshhhh! Don't disturb. I'm busy "fighting" with daddy...

Comics

I have taken a liking to reading comics lately, thanks to mummy's new collection of Baby Blues comic books. Mummy used to go crazy over this comic strip years ago (she still does now!) and she nearly named me Zoe, can you believe it?

I love reading about the kids, esp Zoe and Hammie's bickering and mischiefs (something that I can relate to hehe). Mummy reads to me on most parts and I will giggle at the situations that I find amusing :D

To Catch a Thief

Last weekend, in Ah Ma's house, we caught a "thief". This "thief" has been feasting on Ah Ma's fruits in her mini fruit garden, creating nuisance and holes in her precious papayas and custard sweet-sops.

This "thief" was none other than the naughty little squirrel and this squirrel must be one of the off-springs or siblings of the many squirrels that Gung-gung has caught in the past.

Some of Ah Ma's fruits of labour... the papaya was partially nibbled by the naughty squirrel!

Mummy quickly asked Gung-gung to set the mouse-trap again so that I could have a closer look at the culprit. Well, luck was on our side. The very next morning, the mouse trap was OCCUPIED!

Gung-gung said this was a "teenager squirrel"... not fully grown up yet. It was rather small and its tail was not quite bushy yet and mummy thought it looked more like a rat... eeewwwwww! But I adored it!

Previously, Gung-gung always released his catch in a forest nearby but today, since I was around, he brought us to the Lake Gardens instead.

As soon as Gung-gung opened the cage in the Lake Garden, the squirrel sprang out, ran up a huge tree and disappeared into it within seconds!

Wheeeeeeeeee! Free at last (but no more papayas for you!)

Bye-bye squirrel. On our way home, I pulled a long face and said "I miss the squirrel" haha.

A Pleasant Surprise

Late last month, while enjoying the remaining few days of my school holidays at home, we received a couriered parcel at our doorstep. It was a prize that I have won from a magazine's photo contest. What a pleasant surprise!

I was selected to appear in the Kids At Play section of the My Child magazine, a free magazine that I bring home from school every month.

Mummy submitted my photo in October 2010 and it was immediately published in the November/December 2010 issue!

Mummy thought she would have no chance of seeing my photo in a magazine because she missed the November issue (due to the school holidays) but today, I finally brought home the "belated" Nov/Dec issue. Before mummy could take a peek, I told her proudly "Got my photo in the magazine, you know" and quickly flipped the pages to show her *show off* haha!

Bullied!

Something happened at the indoor playground in The Curve today. I was playing happily on the slide with another girl, a very sweet and pretty little girl who was about the same age as me. While sitting side by side on the platform at the top of the slide, the both of us did nothing and just smiled at each other. Suddenly, this little girl put her hands on my shoulders and started shaking me violently. Before mummy could come and pull me away (she was standing quite a distance away), she witnessed something even more horrifying... this little girl started hitting me and slapping me on my face a few times like a possessed little demon! What a crazy kid!

Mummy was fooled by the sweet, innocent look of the little girl, who turned out to be an aggressive and abusive bully! And what did silly me do? I just sat there and grinned at her without retaliating or trying to walk off. Silly, silly me! I was too timid to react! Sigh...

This incident shocked and angered mummy so much, she *embarrassed and sorry to admit* taught me something really bad... "WHY DIDN'T YOU HIT HER BACK??" Okay, she didn't really mean it but she was really enraged by the bully's attitude. She almost wanted to tell the little girl's mummy off, who was sitting nearby reading a book, totally unaware of the drama her daughter has created. Mummy, being timid herself (hah!), just did not want to create a scene there.

Daddy and mummy are deeply worried now. I have been too protected all this while, I don't know how to fend for myself. The least I could do was to walk away but I didn't. How???

Shoo Fly... From Dream to Reality

One morning, I woke up from bed and told mummy...

Mummy, just now I had a dream. I dream there were sooooooo many flies in our house. We had to wear shoes in the house because the floor was full of flies...

Hahaha! Mummy found my dream cute and funny.

Later in the afternoon, on the very same day, while having an afternoon tea in a cafe (in a hotel), we were bugged by a fly. It kept hovering near our drinks, cakes and pastries. Moments later, while we did not notice its sudden disappearance...

... daddy found it dead. In his cup of coffee! (caffeine overdose, maybe?)

This incident reminded mummy about the dream that I told her this morning. What a coincidence!

Of course, daddy got a new cup of coffee even without the need to complain. Just showed the waiter the cup :)

Bad English

Last week, we had a rare treat. It was a weekday dinner at Pizza Hut. Mummy had to ponteng cooking because being a klutz in the kitchen, she kept "cutting" and "slicing" her fingers with the cleaver almost every other day :( The last "injury" was this deep, painful (and bleeding) gash on her index finger which made her quit cooking on that day.

Ok back to the pizza. The meal was great. I had 2 slices of pizza, some spaghetti, a piece of garlic bread, a bit of creamy mushroom soup, some Milo and a scoop of chocolate ice-cream. Mummy ordered a Kiddy Meal for me, which came with a fun pack...

While browsing through the Kid's Teasers booklet, mummy kept shaking her head in dismay. 3 out of the 6 pages had grammatical errors in them...

Halos n Horns

For quite some time, I've been having this skin problem that caused itchiness all over my body, esp on my limbs and back. And for months, I've been scratching here and there and everywhere like a monkey. Medications offered only temporary relief and soon, the itchiness would resume.

Just look at what my "itchy" fingers have done to my itchy body...

Recently, mummy discovered something that worked like magic. Attracted by its "No Harmful Chemicals" claim (esp SLS and SLES), mummy decided to try it. Called Halos N Horns, it's a range of bath products from the U.K.

It's available in 250ml Hair & Body Wash, 200ml Shampoo & Detangler and 250ml Baby Bath

After using it for a few days... mummy and I were very impressed with the results. No more itchiness, no more scratching!

The best part is, it's only RM5.99 each! And Giant is currently having a "buy 1, get 1 free" promotion. At only RM3 each, it's too cheap not to buy more, so mummy purposely made a trip back to Giant (we have only seen this in Giant, so far) to stock up...

Mischievous and Full Of Antics

Mummy has just finished labeling all the blog posts in my blog... 515 entries altogether, as of today.

The result of my "personality test" is finally out. Topping the list are these two categories: ANTICS and MISCHIEF. Well, that's me... forever mischievous and full of antics!

Mummy also couldn't resist chuckling to herself when she browsed through some of her old favourites in Sleeping Unbeauty, Cute Blunders and Flashback.

I Miss Home

I've been spending my weekdays at Mah-mah's house for about 3 months now. I miss home a lot lately. Fridays seem like a very long wait so every evening without fail, I ask daddy and mummy to take me home. Whenever they are about to leave, I will run to daddy, cling on to him tightly and plead pitifully "Go home... go home. Toys, books, puzzle..." Yes, I miss my toys, books and puzzles a lot.

Unfortunately, daddy always says "Wait for Friday ok. Another 3 more days". Sometimes I would cry. Sometimes I would put on a very dejected look and reluctantly say "Bye. See you. Daddy wan an. Mummy wan an" and *kiss kiss* them.

And run back to my usual activities here...


... such as reading the newspapers like Yeh-yeh.

Itchy Hands

I can't help it. The loose wooden flaps were seemingly "waving" to me, and my itchy hands found them too irresistable to be left alone.

Besides stripping off table tops, I also have this irritating habit of removing and throwing all the cushions on the floor. This never fails to put a BIG frown on mummy's face but Mah-mah likes it because she always says "Nevermind, let her throw!" Lalalalala....
