Mamy Poko Ambassador Campaign

Hey look! I'm in Mamy Poko Club's website. Guess which one is me? http://www.mamypokoclub.com/

Dig, dig, dig...

This is my favourite hobby... digging and rummaging through things in drawers, boxes and cabinets in the house. Though I know they contain the same old thing, I still find it fun and entertaining to go through this repetitive search every day without fail...

The MMR jab

Last Saturday, daddy and mummy brought me to the clinic again. This clinic seems to be infested with ants. As the doctor was examining me, she said "It's just an ant bite". Not again... I remember her telling me the same thing during our past few visits. In the past, those tiny little ants were nothing compared to the huge one that bit me on Saturday. For the very first time, I let out a short cry "Waaaaaah" which lasted about 5 seconds. Sigh! I don't understand why mummy keeps exposing and offering my butt to those pesky ants....

My first few steps

Look-alike Meter

I think if mummy tucked in her tongue and opened her eyes, the result would have been different. Well, just let daddy win lah. I'm daddy's girl anyway...

Baby Talk Part 2

There still isn't much improvement where my speech development is concerned. I'm not interested at all to repeat what mummy tells me to. Occasionally, I do try to please her and make up something that makes her excited.

Mummy: Say daddy.
Me: Dah-deh
Mummy: Dad-dy
Me: Daah-dee
Mummy: Hee hee hee... (she thinks I got it)

Mummy: Say fish
Me: sshh
Mummy: Fish
Me: ish
Mummy: Fish
Me: isshh
Mummy: Hee hee hee... (she thinks I got it again)

Mummy: Say mummy
Me: Dah
Mummy: Mama
Me: Dah
Mummy: Ma
Me: Dah
Mummy: Dah lah... malas nak ajar engkau...

Bye-bye pacifier

I have been sleeping without my pacifier for about 2 weeks now. I think I'm starting to forget that it even existed. Mummy is very glad that I've finally given it up for good. Don't be too happy yet, mummy. I'm a big girl now and I'm in the midst of plotting some new pacifying techniques from you hehehe. (Hint: "carry", hug-hug, cuddle-cuddle, kiss-kiss etc.)

New Playhouse

This playpen used to be in mum and dad's bedroom. It was used as a "jail" whenever mummy needed to get something done without my interference. I never liked to be placed inside here... until dad moved it to the living room. It's so much more fun here. It's no longer a "jail" but a playhouse to me. Hehehe.

Bend and Twist

Last Saturday morning, I woke up as usual at 8am. Realising how tired and worn-out mummy looked, I've decided not to disturb her and let her sleep a little longer. Being a good girl, I kept myself quietly occupied with that little piece of thing that has always fascinated me. Since it was left beside mummy's bed and was easily within my reach, I thought "Why not...?"

I was busy bending and twisting my new "toy" when suddenly, mummy lept out of bed, let out a faint yell and grabbed that thing away from me. Later, I saw mummy immitating my actions. She was bending and twisting it too - something I've never seen her done before. She mumbled something and passed it to daddy. Daddy too, started to bend and twist it like I did. They mumbled something to each other and then glared at me with a look that said "How did you do it, ar? See... we can't straighten it back to its original form!"

Teething again

In addition to my mini set of 8 teeth, four new pre-molars (gigi geraham kecil) have erupted from all the four corners of my jaws, which means I have a total of 12 teeth at 13 months. Three of them are clearly visible, while the one on my lower right jaw is just cutting through. It's not easy to catch a glimpse of my new teeth unless I go waaaaaaaaaah!! Maybe that describes why everytime I cry, mummy will tell daddy, "Quickly... come and see. There! There! Can you see it?"

It's funny to learn that our teeth do not actually grow from front to back. According to the front-to-back order, next to appear should be the canine (gigi taring) but since the canines are still in hiding, the presence of the pre-molars have left some gaps on my gums. I can feel with my tongue, something like this: teeth, teeth, teeth, teeth, gum, teeth, gum...

Mummy says I'm a good girl because despite the discomfort, she considers me quite well-behaved (meaning: not making unnecessary fuss or being too cranky). I also suspect this teething thingy is the main culprit of last week's fever.

Bad Hair Day

Mummy was looking through some of my old photos when she came across something funny. She asked daddy to take a look and he too, burst into laughter!

Between my 5th and 7th month, I sported this "bad-hair-day" hairstyle. With no special effects, hairsprays, styling, static etc., this was how I always looked:

Funny or not?

Fever

Just a week before turning 13 months, I fell sick for the very first time in my life. It all happened when I woke up from my afternoon nap. My body felt warmer than usual. Mummy got into semi-panic mode when the thermometer beeped continuously to indicate a fever, confirming her fear. She called daddy, who came home earlier than usual to bring me to the clinic. However, the paediatrician's clinic was closed. So we went to a see a GP instead.

The doctor said my fever was quite high at 39.7 degree celsius. I also had a throat infection which explained why I refused to drink water, milk or even swallow my saliva. I hated the medicines but mummy kept forcing me to take it. How could mummy describe them as yummy-yummy when they tasted so yucky-yucky? I vomitted everything out immediately after taking them. As a result, my fever wouldn't go away.

The following day, daddy and mummy brought me to see the paediatrician. She confirmed that I had a very, very bad throat infection and gave me a bottle of antibiotics. This medicine tasted much better and I even opened my mouth willingly when mummy directed the "syringe" to me.

During the few days when I was sick, I was cranky during the day and wakeful during the night. I fussed and cried over the slightest thing or for no reason at all. Although I got to sleep in between mummy and daddy on their big bed, I woke up frequently at night simply to... cry. I wanted mummy to cuddle me, rock me in her arms and pat me to sleep. I could only sleep for an hour or so and would wake up to demand for the same thing over and over again. I think I gave mummy a super tough time!

Sick...

Weekend Getaway 2

Last weekend, I tagged along with daddy and mummy to another weekend getaway. Yippee yay yay!
Mummy, daddy... let me drive you there. Fasten your seat belts. Ready, steady, go! Haha... actually, mummy went to buy lunch so daddy and I waited in the car. And while waiting, I like to sit on daddy's lap and manoeuvre the steering like this.

We stayed at a hotel with lots of horses. There were horses on the ceiling, on the walls, on the furniture, in the bathroom and everywhere you name it. Look at the shampoo and bath gel bottles. Aren't they unique?

Welcome drink, anyone?

Hello, hello... room service, please. The telephone was the only interesting thing I could find in the room.

Next was the mirror (not again...)

Taking a "walk" at the poolside.

At night, we went to Putrajaya to see the Malaysian International Fireworks Competition (MIFC). We went there with Auntie Bee Sien and Uncle Daryl, who drove us there. Uncle Daryl parked his car at the roadside, together with a long line of other cars and we managed to get a good and clear view of the fireworks. Mummy pointed at the fireworks and said "Look BB, fireworks!" So I kept my eyes glued on the bright and colourful display.
