An Awful Lunch

Today, I had the most awful-tasting lunch ever! These photos are self-explanatory...

Alright, here's what mummy cooked for me today...

It was mummy's ploy to make me eat bittergourd! Since I always came home from school starving, I rarely said NO to anything that was served. Although today's lunch tasted awful, I did not protest at all and "guai-guai" (obediently) finished the whole bowl cos if I didn't, I would have nothing to eat. No force, no bribes and no threats were required. Despite the not-so-happy expressions above, I was too hungry to reject it so I finished the whole bowl of bitter soup! *Double thumbs-up from mummy*

(This is my first time eating bittergourd. Although mummy cooks this quite often, she has never "forced" me to eat it before)

Bullied!

Something happened at the indoor playground in The Curve today. I was playing happily on the slide with another girl, a very sweet and pretty little girl who was about the same age as me. While sitting side by side on the platform at the top of the slide, the both of us did nothing and just smiled at each other. Suddenly, this little girl put her hands on my shoulders and started shaking me violently. Before mummy could come and pull me away (she was standing quite a distance away), she witnessed something even more horrifying... this little girl started hitting me and slapping me on my face a few times like a possessed little demon! What a crazy kid!

Mummy was fooled by the sweet, innocent look of the little girl, who turned out to be an aggressive and abusive bully! And what did silly me do? I just sat there and grinned at her without retaliating or trying to walk off. Silly, silly me! I was too timid to react! Sigh...

This incident shocked and angered mummy so much, she *embarrassed and sorry to admit* taught me something really bad... "WHY DIDN'T YOU HIT HER BACK??" Okay, she didn't really mean it but she was really enraged by the bully's attitude. She almost wanted to tell the little girl's mummy off, who was sitting nearby reading a book, totally unaware of the drama her daughter has created. Mummy, being timid herself (hah!), just did not want to create a scene there.

Daddy and mummy are deeply worried now. I have been too protected all this while, I don't know how to fend for myself. The least I could do was to walk away but I didn't. How???

Arts n Crafts Day: Sugar Rush

Last week, mummy bought these edible craft kits from a Christmas clearance sale in Cold Storage. She actually spotted them earlier (before Christmas) but found them too pricey!

A few days after Christmas, she went back to take a look again (plus a hint from Aunty Moon who also bought a set). This time, it was too cheap to resist so she bought two boxes for me (both expiring in Sept 2012). She actually wanted to buy more but had second thoughts when she started to imagine me eating junk... sugar, artificial colouring, flavouring, preservatives etc.

We started off with Kellogg's Rice Krispies Treats today...

First, mummy melted the marshmallows with some butter in a pan and stirred in the rice cereal

Next, she pressed the mixture into the house-pan to mould it into the shape of a house. Added a thin piece of chocolate to make the door.

Yay! I'm all ready to decorate my little house!

I had so much fun decorating the house with colourful candies!

Koo-koo was here to play masak-masak (baking, actually) with mummy.

Mmmmmmmm.... hou-hou sek ar! (Very yummy)

The gooey, sticky and chewy melted marshmallow went very well with the rice puffs

Mummy removed all the colourful sweets and didn't allow me to eat them. The gummy jellies (spice drops) tasted weird and I wasn't interested in them at all. We basically just ate the rice cereal with melted marshmallows.

After eating and brushing my teeth, I took a very, very long nap (more than 3 hours!) while mummy and Koo-koo played around with more sugar haha.

On A Wet, Wet Morning...

It was raining quite heavily this morning. Mummy wanted to send me to school by car. I protested and insisted on walking there with my raincoat and umbrella (just like the good old days). I was actually eager to use my new, cute tortoise umbrella. It was given to me by Ah Ma a few weeks ago and I have been WAITING for the perfect rainy day like this to use it. Our conflicting ideas soon led to a mini-debate...

Mummy: Car.

Me: Raincoat and umbrella.

Mummy: CAR!

Me: RAINCOAT AND UMBRELLA!

Mummy: CAR!!!

Me: RAINCOAT AND UMBRELLA!!!

Raindrops keep falling on my umbrella... this is fun!

It was quite windy and I kept yelling "Mummy help, my umbrella is going to fly away!" Haha. Very good!

Ok, ok... mummy let me win first but.....

After school, the weather was still gloomy and it was drizzling a bit so mummy drove to my school to pick me up (although it was a mere few hundred metres away).

Final score: 1-1

It was a draw. Hahaha.

Funny Talk

Here's another compilation of the funny things I've said recently...

Early one morning, as I was washing up in the bathroom, someone (our neighbour from either above or below us) sneezed. It was a very loud one (a few times in a row) that sounded like some "barking". Giving mummy a startled look, I said "Maybe that was a sea-lion?" Hahaha!

We were in town one day and daddy was driving slowly along a row of shop lots, trying to look for a parking space. Suddenly, I asked "Mummy, what is Reh Heh Beh?" while pointing to a building. Mummy was trying hard to figure out what I was saying until she looked up and saw the sign of RHB Bank.

Me: Mummy, can you please don't grow very, very fat like the man in Chance of the Meatballs? (referring to the ballooning Mayor in the animated movie Cloudy With The Chance of Meatballs)

Mummy: Why?

Me: Because if you are soooooo fat, I cannot hug you anymore *sad*. I can only touch your shoulders like this *put my hands on her shoulders and looked pitiful*

While helping mummy to water her plants, I said "Mummy, I think it is quite autumn now". Mummy's plants were obviously very neglected as I pointed at all those fallen dried-up leaves on the floor and repeated again "See all the leaves on the floor... it's quite autumn, right?

Me: Mummy, dinosaurs don't have ears.

Mummy: Who said?

Me: Neh, you see *shove the Barney key-chain to her*. Now, tell me, where are the ears?

And finally... mummy found out that I am actually quite vain.

Me: Mummy, I've decided already... I'm NOT going to wear this pants out.

Mummy: Why not?

Me: Afterwards people think I'm a clown, how?

I kept insisting that this pink polka-dot leggings look like a clown's pants :(

First Day of School

I have been looking forward to going back to school since last week. Today is the first day of my second year in the same kindergarten. I was a little apprehensive when told that I would be in K1 but other than that, I was very much an eager-beaver. This morning, I had no problem waking up early at 7.30am although I have been sleeping in late (past 9am) in the last 5 weeks.

I squealed in delight when I saw my kindy uniform and couldn't wait to put it on. Mummy walked me to school as usual. On the way there, I told her how much I missed my Nursery Class. After being ushered into my new classroom, I didn't allow mummy to leave!

Mummy stayed back and watched me from behind. I participated in the class activities as usual but kept turning back to check if mummy was still there. During our washroom break, mummy sneaked out and went home. According to my teacher, I cried a bit and was back to my cheerful self soon after that.

After school, I refused to answer mummy's question on why I cried. I kept changing the subject and told her "I'm OK already. The music cheered me up. And this party pack too." Oh yes, one of my friends celebrated his birthday in school and I was given a party pack.

Back home... HAPPY again!

Looking Back at 2010

Year 2010 has been a very, very eventful year for me. I've achieved and experienced many, many firsts, and of course, the most significant change in my life was attending pre-school at the start of the year in January.

Daddy and mummy were extremely proud of me because it was a tear-less affair since Day 1. I adapted very well to school life and did very well in school too :)

One of my favourite holiday destinations must be Hong Kong Disneyland (March).

My very first kindy field trip... Taman Tasik Menjalara. In the two subsequent trips to the zoo and bird park, I went without mummy (March).

An ugly scene... my first haircut in a hair saloon... I cried until I vomited *so embarrassing*

One of our most enjoyable and memorable holidays... Awana Kijal, Terengganu (July)

I celebrated my 4th birthday in August... had a small party in school

And finally... our very own car! Daddy bought ME a new car, and appointed mummy as the driver hehe (November)

It was also a year that I visited many, many of places of interests (and beaches) and stayed in quite a number of hotels (more than 10!).

Weekday Getaway at DoubleTree Hilton

Exactly a year ago, on the 28th, we went for a hotel stay in KL Hilton. Yesterday, on the 29th, we stayed in a Hilton again... this time, it was at the newly refurbished DoubleTree by Hilton in KL (formerly the Crown Princess Hotel). It was a last minute decision to squeeze in another stay just before our Hilton Premium Club membership expires on the 31st.

It was a very, very relaxing stay and we LOVED this hotel to the max (cos everything was NEW).

The room... it was quite small but very cosy.

Right after lunch (mummy tapau-ed nasi lemak and bread), we went for a dip in the pool. Swimming is the activity that I look forward to the most in every hotel stay.

We befriended a very friendly American girl who kept following us and playing with us like she was part of our family :)

After swimming, we spent the whole day in the room, on the bed actually... watching tv, doing nothing and napping. We also snacked non-stop on the snacks, nuts and lots of fruits that we brought from home. Our favourite snack of the day has got to be these two pieces of chocolate chip cookies that the hotel gave to us as welcome gifts...

Honestly, this was the MOST DELICIOUS choc chip cookies we have ever eaten! It was moist, chewy and every bite was full of choc chips and nuts

It was SO good that it actually had a mascot, no kidding! And it was SO yummy that we actually went to the reception counter and asked for more *thick-skin habis* haha (this was what the little American girl taught us).

I was so happy to see the CCC mascot, I ran towards it and hugged its legs haha!

For dinner, we had something simple at the Old Town White Coffee in Ampang Park, which was just across the street. On the way back, mummy bought a yummy dessert from the hotel's cafe because it was 50% off and she couldn't resist...

The food here was not bad... lots of variety and it was very reasonably priced too
