I went for my eye check-up recently and came back with both good and bad news. Let's start with the bad news first... the power of my myopia has increased. According to my doctor (ophthalmologist) , this is very normal because as I grow, my eyeballs will enlarge and elongate, and this will naturally cause my power to increase. She prescribed the MyoVision lenses for me in the hope that this special breakthrough lenses is able to slow down the progression of my shortsightedness.
Well, the good news is, I have no more "lazy eyes". My vision can now be corrected to 6/6.

Test-wearing the new power for 10 minutes... no dizziness. Ok, pass! |
|
Daddy conveying another bad news to me "No more iPad games on weekdays!" |

Last year's prescription... |

The special lenses prescribed to me |
Immediately after leaving the eye specialist centre, we headed to Focus Point to pick a new frame for my new pair of MyoVision glasses.
|
I insisted on this pair of plastic-ky, thick-framed, nerdy one. Although I looked somewhat cute in this, it didn't gain mummy's approval... |
|
How about this one then? It's purple and purple is my favourite colour... |
|
Finally, we decided on this one... a pink frame with stars on the sides... nice? |
|
There... me in my new specs :) |
Influenced by Gugu for the black plastic frame? :p
ReplyDeleteNice pair of pinkish specs and I think many parents will love this new invention of MyoVision.
ReplyDeleteThe pink frame with stars are lovely!
ReplyDeleteMay I know which ophthalmologist you went to? I am thinking of bringing Ben for a check too.
ReplyDeleteWe brought Chloe to Vista Eye Specialist in Bangsar. Her ophthalmologist is Dr Shamala... a very nice lady :)
DeleteThanks for the recommendation. I shall bring Ben there to check his eyes too.
DeleteActually how did the dr check for lazy eye? I brought Gwen to ISEC 2 yrs ago, dr said she doesn't have lazy eye.
ReplyDeleteChloe looks pretty in her new pink glasses.
Err, I'm also not sure how lazy eye is determined. I think it depends on the power... usually one eye is very high while the other is normal, or just low.
DeleteHahaha...daddy looks so serious when pointing his finger..so ipad for weekend only?
ReplyDeleteHaha say only weekend but sometimes, will curi-curi play a bit on weekdays also :p
DeleteNice specs.
ReplyDeleteMe and my hubby also wear specs one. I always tell my son not to play too much Ipad...hehehe.
ReplyDeleteChloe looks good with specs.
I am worry that Aden will be wearing spec as well in the future since hubby and I are short sighted....
ReplyDeleteChloe looks nice in new specs!
oh what a cutie. i like her new specs :)
ReplyDeletePink specs with stars~~ So pretty and girlish!!
ReplyDeleteChloe does annually checkup, huh? That's a good practise.
Her check-up is a scheduled one, done every 8 months. Once this eye condition is identified (esp for a child), have to monitor regularly lor...
DeleteYes....nice. Like it too!
ReplyDeleteVery nice pink spec, my both elder also wear spec. I'm quite worry my dotter as her power is increasing every 6 months.
ReplyDeleteVery lovely pink specs there :)
ReplyDeleteI am person who has lazy eyes and myopia for more than 3 decades. We must really take good care of the eye sight. I am now having Presbyopia also.
ReplyDeleteYay! No more lazy eyes. As for the short-sightedness, guess u'll jes hv to wait for her eyes to stabilise. The MyoVision lenses r vy costly hor. Hopefully they're really effective. :) And she looks vy nice in her new stylish specs. Metal frame?
ReplyDeleteGlad to know no more lazy eyes for you. Hope the new MyoVision lenses can help you. BTW nice frame, good choice mommy.
ReplyDeleteGood choice on the spec. Very nice design.
ReplyDeleteAhh...one of my fav colour is also purple.
