My 1st Baju Kurung

It's the National Day party at school today! We are encouraged to wear traditional costumes again and this time, I don't have any :( The one that I wore during CNY earlier this year doesn't fit anymore and the blouse is falling apart because of mummy's horrible sewing skill hahaha!

Therefore, yesterday (night), at the very last minute, we went to a nearby Giant to hunt for a pair of baju kurung. Miser mummy was actually eyeing the cheapest one (RM19.99) that she saw in the Giant catalogue but too bad, the prints were too ugly. She ended up spending a little bit more, and got me this light, smooth and satin-y one. At RM24.99, it is still considered cheap lah. Here it is, unwashed and un-ironed *mummy covers her face*...

Mummy managed to grab a prop for me too... a small RM0.99 cloth flag.

Wearing a size 8, mind you (for 8 year olds)!

Cik Ayu? ^-^

Having this baju kurung means I will be wearing it again for the upcoming Hari Raya event next week...

Killing two birds with one stone ;)

Can't Wait To Be 5 Years Old

Can you believe it, I just celebrated my fourth birthday a few days ago and yesterday, I kept telling mummy "I can't wait to be 5 years old. I really can't wait to be 5 years old". Well, what's the hurry to grow up, you might wonder. It's because of this...

I wanted to paint this really badly and the recommended age was 5 haha!

Since I was so eager, mummy decided to lend me a helping hand and allowed me to open the pack.

Painting the frame

Painting the cow

The finer details like the black spots on the cow and the yellow flowers on the frame were done by mummy. She was afraid that I might ruin the whole thing if she were to let me do it on my own.

Blow-drying to hasten the drying process. We learned this from here.

Applying a coat of varnish to the painted frame

Adding the finishing touches to my moo-moo cow frame... giving it two cute googly eyes

Tada... done! Nice or not?

My moo-moo frame sitting among other frames on the drawer chest

Thank you again to Auntie Kathy for this terrific gift! Mummy and I enjoyed painting it very, very much!

My Presents

I would like to thank all the aunties and uncle (Kau-foo) who generously showered me with so many birthday presents...

I received the most number of presents this year (compared to previous years)

Enjoyed opening them one by one, with daddy and mummy's help, of course

This is definitely my favourite! Bubble wrap! (that came with Auntie Ivy's present)

And here they are, in no particular order...

2 boxes of Spelling and Time puzzles from Auntie BS. Thank you, Auntie BS!

Bubble gun with flashing lights from Koo-Koo. Thank you, Koo-koo!

Lego from Daddy and Mummy.

Aqua Beads from Kau-foo. Thank you, Kau-foo!

Disney Princesses Lenticular Puzzle from Tai Koo-ma. Thank you, Tai Koo-ma!

Coin box and coloured markers from Auntie Ivy. Thank you, Auntie Ivy! (The Bear-Bear coin box was immediately "fed" with Gung-Gung and Ah Ma's ang-pau money)

T-shirt from Auntie Moon. Thank you, Auntie Moon!

I also received something by Poslaju today. It was from a very kind and thoughtful mummy blogger, Auntie Kathy (Smallkucing's mummy).

See... birthday over already, still got people sending me present!

Photo frame painting set from Auntie Kathy. Thank you, Auntie Kathy!

Once again, a big THANK YOU to all for the wonderful gifts. I love them all!

Money Talk and Other Talks

During our recent visit to Pavilion, mummy let me toss 10 sen into the Pavilion Crystal Fountain. Right after that, I told her...

Me: I like throwing coin into the fountain.
Mummy: Would you like to throw another one? (She had in mind to give me just 5 sen)
Me: No, don't want to waste money!

Both daddy and mummy were pleasantly surprised and beaming with pride when they heard that. They have never mentioned the phrase "waste money" to me before and they were glad that I had some basic money sense in me.

Prudent girl... it's in the blood hehe!

Other Talk 1
I was talking non-stop from school all the way back home, right up to my bath and lunch. After about 20 minutes' of endless chattering, I took a deep breath, paused and said, "I don't want to talk anymore. Talk until my tongue also tired already!"

Other Talk 2
Mummy was talking to me while I was having my lunch. She asked me something but I was too "busy" to answer her. She asked again and I continued to ignore her, while chomping down my meal like a hungry horse. Slightly annoyed, she asked again in an angry tone, "I'm talking to you! Can you please answer me?" Equally irked by her endless questions, I retorted, "I'm too hungry to talk right now. Ask me later!"

My Big Day

13 August 2010

I went to school as usual in the morning and had a small and simple celebration with my teachers and friends during the morning tea-break.

Surrounded by my little friends singing Happy Birthday To You... *so shy, quickly pretend to look blur*

Me and my Elmo cupcake

Right after school, daddy (who took leave from work to spend the day with his Princess) came to fetch me and off we went, to our much anticipated hotel stay. I love staying in hotels so this is the most perfect gift for me!

*Excited* I can't wait...

We checked-in to a hotel in the city...

The hotel lobby was quite classy and impressive

Our room on the 11th floor

The first thing I did was to have a quick shower, followed by a pre-lunch fruit snack while daddy and mummy discussed where to go for lunch.

Sitting at my favourite corner of the room... looking down at the hustle and bustle of Jalan Bukit Bintang

Jumping and monkeying around on the bed

We decided to go to Lot 10, which was just right across the road, about 2 minutes' walk away. We had lunch at the famous Hutong Foodcourt.

Checking out some of the nice stalls there and enjoying my egg-gravy pan mee

After makan, we went shopping in Isetan. I have never been to Lot 10 before! (This goes to show how "often" daddy and mummy come here)

Geram-ing some Dibo and gang soft toys in Isetan

While walking around Lot 10, we came across Jackie Chan's Cafe... a very cosy place with HUGE lounge chairs and a spacious dancing floor. Daddy and mummy ordered a drink and lazed on the cosy seat while I ran around, jumped and tapped my feet to the groovy music. I had a good half-hour of workout dancing away, oblivious to passing shoppers who stopped to admire and smile at my antics.

Like a dancing princess...

My self-choreographed moves

Aaah! So relaxing! Can we come here again?

First time walking along Bintang Walk

We also had a short stroll in Starhill. Pavilion was right beside the hotel that we were staying in. We just lingered outside for a while, around the fountain, and did not go in. Reason: I wanted to go swimming!

ChloeRuoyi is on sale. Who wants? Hehe!

We rushed back to the hotel to get ready to go to the pool. However, my enthusiasm was hampered by the sudden change of weather. First, the sky turned really, really dark. There was thunder and lightning, and within minutes, it was pouring!

Because of the heavy downpour, we did not feel like going out for dinner, and settled for something simple in the hotel. We ordered Fettuccine Carbonara and Seafood Pizza at Bistro 160.

Checking my blog while waiting for the food to arrive. Thank you very much for all the lovely comments and birthday wishes!

Yummmmmmmy!!!

After dinner, it was back to the room for bath and zzzzzzzzz. I was so tired, I was completely knocked-out by 8pm+.

A cold and stormy night...

14 August 2010

The following morning, after a good night's sleep, we went to Pavilion for breakfast and more shopping...

The newly put-up Hari Raya deco... they were not even around yet when we came here yesterday!

We had breakfast at Subway, our favourite sandwich deli.

Sinking my teeth into mummy's tuna and egg sandwich... mmmmm.... loved it!

Posing on a bench in Pavilion

Finally... swimming! My wish has been fulfilled!

However, not even 10 minutes into it, the sky turned gloomy again. Oh no, not again. It was very windy too. Fearing that I might catch a cold, mummy quickly got me off the pool and promised to let me have a bubble bath in the room...

This is just as good, if not better!

Daddy requested for late check-out at 3pm so that we could relax in the room until 3pm for our English Afternoon Tea at the same bistro where we had our dinner yesterday.

Running around while waiting to be served

Our English afternoon tea set

Tea and coffee, sandwiches, scones, cakes and pastries

Let's eat!

Finally, it was time to go home. Bye-bye hotel! We will be back in 2 months' time :)
