All About the Boat

Throughout my nearly 1-week stay in Seremban, I never stopped playing with the boat, not even for a day. Gung-gung suggested that we do something fun with it today. In the evening, when the weather was good, Gung-gung, Kau-foo, mummy and I went to the Lake Garden.

Cousins From Abroad Part II

After becoming good buddies with cousin Nathan for 2 full days, I started talking, playing and behaving very differently. I was so much like a boy!

The most noticeable thing was, I kept holding a make-believe gun (it could be anything), pointed it at someone and said "Hands up!" or "Don't move" or "I'll shoot you!" or "Shoot the crocodiles!" or "Shoot this, shoot that, bang-bang here, bang-bang there" etc. *mummy shakes head* Luckily this didn't last long. A few days later, no more bang-bang here and there haha! Phew!

We practically "lived" in this sampan for 2 whole days. Haha!

Cousins From Abroad

Mummy's main intention of bringing me back to Seremban in the middle of the week was to meet up with some of my cousins from Australia.

As usual, I was the timid little mouse who didn't talk to any of them and while they played happily, I just watched quietly from a corner.

After standing for quite some time, I sat down and continued watching quietly (and smiling at their antics) from there.

I didn't join them at all, probably because I found the game a little too rough for me.

Later, when no one was looking, I sneaked up quietly to one of my favourite cousins, ZK, and gave him a very loving hug. I liked him sooooo much that I couldn't keep my hands off him! Mummy's eyes nearly popped out when she saw me all over him like this...

1st Inter-city Train Ride

I took my very first "real" train ride today. Before this, I've only taken the LRT and kiddy train rides in amusement parks. Today, mummy brought me to Seremban by the KTM Commuter. Daddy dropped us off at the Subang Jaya station, on his way to work, early in the morning.

Because the trains were delayed due to an accident where a vehicle had fallen on the tracks, special coaches were arranged to pick us up from this station. So, we didn't have to squeeze ourselves into sardine-packed coaches and even got available seats to sit on. How lucky!

I kept humming and singing this Choo-Choo Soul theme song sung by Genevieve on Playhouse Disney.

After changing to another train at KL Sentral, the train was even emptier. I could change places and sit anywhere I liked!

This pole also kept me happily occupied... I kept swinging around it like a monkey haha!

Overall, I was extremely well-behaved throughout the whole journey. I did not give mummy any problems at all. Upon our arrival at the Seremban railway station, Gung-gung was there to fetch us home.

Handsome or Pretty?

Every day after bath, when mummy combs my hair, I must make some noise over the issue of being "pretty" or "handsome".

Combing the fringe like this means "pretty".

And combing it like this means "handsome".

Most of the time, I like to be "pretty" but whenever I put on a boyish-looking T-shirt, I'll opt to be "handsome" instead. It's quite automatic hahaha!

The Big Rat

A few nights ago, I asked for bread and cheese just before bedtime, giving the excuse that I was hungry. Mummy should have known better because it was actually my ploy to snack on the half slice of cheese. When I happily finished the cheese and left the whole piece of bread untouched, mummy got annoyed and asked me to eat it up!

About an hour later, when I was already on bed, mummy discovered that the bread was still unfinished. I had quietly put it aside, away from mummy's watchful eyes...

Both daddy and mummy burst into laughter upon seeing the work of their little "rat". The teeth/bite marks were just too cute and funny. Hahaha!

The Hat

While playing at the car porch in Ah Ma's house, I was made to wear this large straw hat because it was quite hot outside. Mummy thought I looked quite cute in it...

I looked so... Ah Moi hehe!

I also wore this hat last year in The Hat Model.

Row, Row, Row Your Boat

Gung-gung stumbled upon this huge and sturdy leaf (dunno from what tree/plant) while playing golf at the golf course. With me in his mind, he dragged it all the way home, touched-up a little bit here and there (smoothen the rough and sharp edges) and then TADA... a new toy for me!

This boat kept me really busy and occupied. It gave me hours and hours of fun as I just couldn't stop playing with it! I used the back-scratcher as an oar and kept rowing the boat while singing Row, Row, Row Your Boat. I even asked gung-gung "Where is the river? Let's go to the river" Hahaha! Every few minutes, after the completion of a "cruise", I'd clean it while chanting "wash, wash, wash, scrub, scrub, scrub, rinse, rinse, rinse, wipe, wipe, wipe etc.!"

I also loaded some of my toys in it and pretended to sell things like one of those floating market peddlars...

I even put on a make-believe helmet... a plastic container haha.

And this was how I drained out poor Gung-gung's energy... by making him pull me around the house like this...

At times, I even yelled "faster, faster!" *Mummy shakes head*

Friday at Friday's

Today is yet another anniversary of daddy and mummy's special day so daddy came home early from work and off we went to TGIF at Sunway Pyramid for dinner. Eating out on a weekday was a rare treat so we really had a blast!

Drinking the clam chowder with a fork (because it was too hot) We moved to the back of the restaurant which was quieter and had a nice window view.

Kids eat free so I had a free meal of chicken fingers. It was a very fun, relaxing, happy and enjoyable slow dinner and we took nearly 2 hours to finish our heavy meals! *Burp*

Sleeping on the Job

Two posts back to back about my sleeping style... Well here's the latest one, which is freshly taken out from the camera. I am still sleeping in this position while this post is being typed and published!

Well, it has been a very long afternoon. I refused to take my nap again and made a big mess at home. I was repeatedly asked and even threatened with a cane, to pick up my toys, especially the Donkey cards, which were strewn all over the sofa. While picking them up one by one, I found the job too tedious so I dozed off just like that... in a matter of seconds!

Sleeping on the teddy bear... so bulky and uncomfy, like that also can sleep *mummy shakes head*

What better way to run away from chores! See, I was still holding on to the Donkey card box and there were only 5 cards inside haha!

Made a big fuss when mummy asked me to take my afternoon nap. I kept telling her "I AM NOT TIRED!" A few minutes later, nap jugak... like this hehe!

Bubbles in the Park

I love bubbles although I've yet to experience the joy of blowing them. I'm still not able to produce that gush of air through blowing.

Mummy bought me this Thomas bubble maker quite some time ago, thinking that I could mechanically wind it to produce bubbles. However, I was more interested in running after them, jumping and popping them rather than producing them!

Weeeeeeeee! This is fun!

But I Don't Even Like Lollipops

Today, for the second time, I "earned" a lollipop from a stranger again through my charms. (First time was here). I was busy looking at some fish in an aquarium with daddy when a lady happened to walk past and I smiled at her. A few minutes later, the lady returned with a lollipop for me!

Later, at home, I kept asking for my lollipop. I was happy and eager with just holding and admiring it. I was not interested in eating it at all. Out of curiosity, I just tasted it with the tip of my tongue and said "Not nice. Got poison". Hahaha!

That's how mummy have been brainwashing me... that the colouring was bad, got poison, the sugar was bad, could cause tooth decay etc. so I've never really got interested in sweets.

We still have a packet of organic lollipops sitting in our fridge! Now, how shall we get rid of all these lollipops?

After watching some kids with their faces painted like cats on tv, I asked mummy "Why is their face like that?" Later in the evening, just before my bath, mummy asked if I would like to have my face painted like a cat too, and I eagerly said "Yes!" Using an eyebrow pencil, she came up with a very amateur, cincai version of a cat-face...

Meeeooooww!

Memorizing Rhymes

I LOVE nursery rhymes! Everyday without fail, I will hum some of the songs to myself while playing alone. Very often, I will also shove the nursery rhyme book to mummy and ask her to sing to me. Actually, I've had this book memorized from cover to cover! I can remember the sequences of almost all the rhymes that appear in it. Sometimes when mummy sings the songs randomly to me, I'll tell her "No, it's wrong. After Rhyme A, is Rhyme B, not Rhyme D!" Haha!

I have been singing and reciting parts of these rhymes as soon as I could talk, which was around 22 months. Now that I'm much older, I can sing and recite them in full, with a much clearer pronunciation, although I still mispronounce some words here and there. I will also mumble through the parts that I'm not sure of.

To date, I think I have memorized as many as 100 or more nursery rhymes, including some of the unusual and not so common ones, like this one called Solomon Grundy, which daddy hates. But mummy and I still like to sing it to annoy him. Haha!

I think he doesn't like the tragic ending and he hates to see the coffin. Mummy agrees that it's not very appropriate for kids too but we still sing it every time we reach this page. It is also featured in one of our kid songs CDs, which is why we know how to sing it.

Solving IQ Puzzles

I have been playing with these shape-puzzles for a few months now. My logical thinking skill is quite good as I'm able to solve many of the puzzles on my own, especially the easy ones. Some of them may look very easy, but they actually aren't!

Even daddy and mummy got hooked to this game and they quickly returned to the shop to buy a second set that is made up of different shapes. Each puzzle comes with 60 cards with different patterns to be solved. The second set (on the left) is quite difficult and I'm not quite able to solve it yet unless it is partially (at least half) filled up for me.

For the more difficult ones, mummy needs to give me some clues by filling in 2-3 pieces for me and I will do the rest.

Tada... I did it!!

Sometimes, I will also create my own patterns. This is called thinking out of the box, literally. Haha! Like in this picture, I've arranged all the shapes to form a rectangle.

What a Snob!

I have zero social skills, something that daddy and mummy are quite embarrassed to admit. While visiting some relatives today, I refused to call or acknowledge anyone, including a few yee-pors (grandaunts), yi-yi and kau-foo. I was like a pair of speakers on mute mode that got jammed. The whole time we were there, I did not even utter a single syllable. Imagine daddy and mummy's frustrations!

When my little cousin Pei Qi (who was on a visit from Australia) came to me with generous hugs and "sayang", I just sat there like a piece of log (again!). This has happened too many times! I was totally unresponsive to her affection and friendly gestures. Sigh... How sad.

I guess I am too extremely shy and timid. Mummy really hopes that when I go to school next year, I will learn to be more friendly and sociable.
